Barts North Wing is a stunning historic venue in the City of London, located within St Bartholomew's Hospital (the oldest working hospital in London) on West Smithfield, EC1A 7BE — close to Smithfield Market, St Paul's Cathedral, and Farringdon station.
It's home to two spectacular 18th-century interiors designed by architect James Gibbs in the 1730s:
The Great Hall — a grand, beautifully restored banqueting and events space with capacity for up to 400 guests. It's used for weddings, concerts, formal dinners, talks, and corporate events.
The Hogarth Stair — a magnificent grand staircase decorated with large-scale paintings by William Hogarth (two of the finest examples of his work), which are free to visit.
Beyond the main hall, there are also smaller rooms available for hire, including the Henry VIII Room (for intimate dining, up to ~20 guests) and the Treasurer's Room (Georgian décor, natural light).
The venue only recently reopened after a significant restoration project, and is managed by Barts Heritage, a charity. It's free to visit on Mondays, Tuesdays, and the first Sunday of each month.
