Friends House London
Building a waste free world of events
The environmental impact of waste is huge. An estimated one third of all food produced in the world goes to waste - and food that ends up in landfill is a substantial source of greenhouse gases. Waste plastics are having a devastating effect on land and sea ecosystems.
The events and hospitality industry. From excess food to exhibition stands destined for landfill, there’s a problem – mountains of waste generated every year. It has to stop. We need to find new ways that challenge the habits of a generation. We need to help the planet recover.
So, this is a lunch with a difference – designed to inspire and support the changes needed.
Between courses we’ll share ideas and best practice that will be of help to corporate meeting organisers, event agencies, venues and others with a vested interest in turning this issue into an opportunity.
Speakers include:
- Liz Woodsell, COO, UKHarvest
- Paul Henderson-Grey, CEO, Quiet Company
- Kevan Holland, Director, Trident Hospitality Consultancy
- Andrew Perolls, CEO, Greengage Solutions
We intend to launch a charter that provides a pathway towards waste elimination through an innovative approach to meetings and events. We’d love to have your support through participating in our lunch event.
