Scope & Purpose of Job:
Working as part of the Business & Commercial Development team to research, identify and create new leads and enquiries within the conference & training sector.

To own and develop business development plans for specific conference & training sectors, nurture existing accounts and become a true ambassador for the venue within the wider industry.

Support the Head of Business Development on specific projects linked to the development of the conference & training sectors, and building relationships with new and existing clients, agents and industry professionals.

Day to Day Responsibilities

• Develop leads within specific market sectors within the conference & training marketplace.
• Own the development of specific sector strategies.
• Research and make initial contact with new leads.
• Prospect and create new leads (via all channels available including but not limited to research calls, board spotting, research, LinkedIn and social media).
• Arrange and attend business development meetings with both prospective, current and lapsed clients both on resort and at client locations.
• Work with the business development team to support the delivery of the wider sector plans particularly across the key market sectors (known as A* sectors).
Business Development
• Manage and develop business within specified key sectors, aligned to the main Wyboston Lakes Resort business plan.
• Create annual sector plans and implement strategies and tactics to achieve growth within your specified sector.
• Generate a consistent pipeline of sales within your specified sectors.
• Undertake sales visits and show rounds for prospective new clients.
• Undertake both online and in-person presentations to generate leads.
• Complete sales proposals and tenders as required.
• Attend exhibitions and forums to represent the resort.
• Generate and attend off-site sales appointments both on your own and with other members of the business development team.

Team
• To support the Head of Business Development and other members of the team in the development of their sectors and to proactively identify additional opportunities for growth in those sectors.
• To work closely with the Meeting & Event planners to maximise sales opportunities, contract business and assist with client queries and requests.
• Support the Serviced Office and Contracted Space plans as and when required.
• Support the wider team with site visits.
• Support the completion of tenders and major proposals as required.
• Attend resort for a minimum of one day per week.

Other & Additional Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver reports as needed to demonstrate success against the objectives outlined within the sales plans.
• Ensure all activity is recorded within Salesforce.
• Prepare and deliver reports as required for sales meetings, quarterly and annual reviews and 1:1s.
• To attend and take an active part in monthly Sales Meetings.
• Manage and sustain strong and effective relationships with team members at all levels throughout the business.
• Act within the company’s values and demonstrate the expected behaviours associated with a team member of the business both whilst on premises and when representing the business externally.
• To adhere to the company policies and procedures at all times.
• Any other duties within their abilities or reasonably requested by Wyboston Lakes Senior Management.
