About CHS Events
CHS Events creates events where the events industry finds its people. For 15 years, we've built a reputation for delivering purposeful events that prioritise meaningful relationships within our sector.
In September 2026, we're launching CHS Manchester at the AO Arena – bringing together our Leeds and Birmingham shows into one flagship event. We also run our Inspirational Venue Roadshows, connecting event professionals with extraordinary venues across the UK.

We're an ambitious team that does things differently. We lead with warmth, authenticity, and community-first values.

The Role

We're looking for a Buyer Engagement Manager who thrives on building genuine relationships. This is an account management role where you'll own the entire buyer journey – from initial recruitment through to event day and post-event follow-up. Your primary focus will be recruiting buyers for CHS Manchester, with support for Inspirational Venue Roadshows when required. You'll be their trusted point of contact throughout their entire CHS experience, ensuring every interaction reflects the warmth and professionalism we're known for.

This is a remote role perfect for a self-starter who can work independently whilst being part of a supportive, high-energy team.

Key Responsibilities

Buyer Recruitment & Pipeline Management:
• Proactively recruit the targeted number of buyers across multiple industry sectors to attend CHS Manchester (primary focus) and Inspirational Venue Roadshows (when required)
• Self-source buyer leads through research, networking, and leveraging your industry contacts
• Qualify all buyers attending our events according to CHS guidelines
• Maintain a strong pipeline of new buyers

Account Management & Relationship Building:

• Own the full buyer journey from initial outreach through to post-event follow-up
• Build and maintain engaged, long-term relationships where genuine connection – not just transactions – is the focus
• Manage buyer relationships proactively to ensure minimal cancellations and maximum engagement
• Be the trusted advisor and main point of contact for your buyer accounts

Buyer Experience & Logistics:
• Handle all buyer enquiries – from accommodation and travel requirements to general logistics and event-day queries
• Ensure buyers have an exceptional experience at every touchpoint with CHS
• Manage pre-event communications, confirmations, and troubleshooting with professionalism and warmth
• Be present on-site at events as the key contact for your buyers
• Follow up post-event to maintain relationships and gather feedback

Data Management & Reporting:
• Keep HubSpot (CRM) updated and accurate at all times
• Provide weekly reporting on pipeline status, recruitment numbers, and forecasting
• Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve buyer engagement strategies

Stakeholder Management & Representation:
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the events industry
• Attend industry events representing CHS, both in the UK and internationally
• Work collaboratively within a high-energy, motivated team whilst being self-sufficient as a remote worker

Person Specification Essential:
• 2+ years' experience in hotel sales, event agency account management, or similar client-facing role within the events/hospitality industry
• Knowledge of the Northwest events scene
• Proven track record of achieving targets and KPIs
• Experience managing client accounts through the full customer journey
• Strong customer care skills with a genuine interest in building long-term relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
• Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Analytical mindset with ability to assess data and influence decision-making
• Willingness to travel for events in the UK
Desirable:
• Existing network of contacts within the meetings and events industry
• Experience using HubSpot (or similar CRM system)
• Knowledge of the wider UK meetings and events sector landscape
• Experience working in exhibitions or trade shows

What We're Really Looking For:
Someone who genuinely loves people and relationship-building. You're organised, resilient, and resourceful. You can handle rejection, bounce back quickly, and keep your pipeline full. You're motivated by targets but never at the expense of relationships or integrity.
You know the Manchester and Northwest events scene – you've got contacts, you understand the market, and you're excited about championing a major new event in the city.
You're comfortable working independently but know when to ask for support. You bring energy, ideas, and a positive attitude to everything you do.

What We Offer:
• The opportunity to be instrumental in building the buyer base for CHS Manchester at the AO Arena
• Flexible 3-4 day work week with remote working with regular team meetups and co-working days
• 28 days holiday (pro-rated for your working pattern)
• Close collaboration with a supportive, ambitious team
• Regular opportunities to attend events and build your industry network
• The chance to shape buyer engagement strategies and own your accounts
• Work that genuinely makes a difference to a thriving community of events professionals
• A culture that values authentic relationships, honest feedback, and work-life balance
