Kitchen Theory is a London-based studio that designs immersive multisensory dining experiences for brands, corporates, cultural institutions, and private clients. For over 12 years, we have been at the forefront of experiential dining in the UK, merging culinary innovation with behavioural science and storytelling to create moments that guests remember long after they leave the table.

Our work sits at the intersection of food, science, and narrative. We don't just create beautiful dishes; we engineer experiences that make people feel something specific, tell brand stories through the senses, and turn dining into a powerful tool for connection and emotion. This approach is grounded in ongoing research developed in collaboration with Oxford University's Professor Charles Spence, one of the world's leading experts in multisensory perception and gastrophysics.

At our London studio, we host award-winning Chef's Table experiences for up to 18 guests: intimate evenings where every course is designed to engage all the senses through carefully curated soundscapes, textures, aromas, and theatrical presentations. These aren't just dinners; they're journeys that explore how our perception of flavour is shaped by everything we see, hear, touch, and feel.

Beyond our studio, we work with UK brands, corporates, and cultural organisations to create bespoke experiential dining for product launches, client entertainment, team experiences, and private celebrations. We've delivered projects for Samsung, Audi, and luxury brands across London, crafting experiences that generate buzz, strengthen brand narratives, and create genuine emotional connections with audiences.

Our expertise extends globally. We've delivered high-profile projects worldwide, including galas for royalty in Saudi Arabia and cultural programming for government institutions across the Middle East, but our heart remains in London, where we continue to push the boundaries of what dining can be.

Whether it's an intimate Chef's Table for 12, a corporate dining experience for 50, or a large-scale brand activation for hundreds, Kitchen Theory approaches every project with the same principles: meticulous attention to craft, research-led innovation, and a commitment to creating experiences that are not just memorable, but transformative.

We turn food into storytelling. We turn dining into cultural moments. We turn ingredients into memories.

FAQs answered by Kitchen Theory Ltd

What makes Kitchen Theory different from traditional catering or private dining?
Kitchen Theory isn't a catering company; we're an experiential design studio that happens to work with food. Our approach is research led, developed in collaboration with Oxford University, exploring how all our senses (sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste) shape the way we perceive flavour and experience meals. Every element, from the music playing to the weight of the cutlery, is deliberately designed to create a specific emotional response and tell a compelling story.
Where do Kitchen Theory experiences take place?
We host intimate Chef's Table experiences for up to 18 guests at our London studio. For larger events, brand activations, or corporate experiences, we work at client venues, hotels, cultural institutions, or unique locations across the UK and internationally. We've delivered projects everywhere from luxury penthouses in London to desert galas in Saudi Arabia.
What is gastrophysics and how does it influence your work?
Gastrophysics is the scientific study of how our senses interact to shape our perception of food and flavour. Developed through our collaboration with Oxford University's Professor Charles Spence, it explores how factors like music, colour, texture, and even the weight of cutlery can dramatically alter how we taste. We use these insights to design every aspect of our experiences, from the soundscapes paired with specific courses to the tableware we choose, ensuring each element works together to create a deeper, more memorable dining experience.
Can Kitchen Theory create experiences for corporate team building or client entertainment?
Absolutely. Corporate experiences are a significant part of what we do. We design interactive culinary workshops, immersive dining experiences for client entertainment, and team building events that go far beyond traditional corporate hospitality. These experiences can be tailored to reflect your brand values, celebrate company milestones, or simply provide a unique way to bring teams together. Past corporate clients have included technology, automotive, finance, and luxury goods sectors.
