Moonstone is one of the UK's leading Murder Mystery providers, holding hundreds of events annually across the South East and beyond.

Using only professional, experienced, comedy improvisers for our suspect line-up, we offer high-quality, interactive Murder Mystery entertainment for corporate clients, public venues and private events. Using only professional improvisation actors to create an evening you’ll never forget!

We bring the murder mystery to the venue of your choice. Over the years, we have been testing guests' sleuthing skills all over the country and internationally for both our pre-developed cases and bespoke events.

With our cases designed for adaptability, we can perform anywhere, from your expected function rooms & offices, from Beach Clubs to back gardens, from boats down the river to moving trains, you name the place, and we'll bring the case!

Alongside our numerous private and public shows, we have held 4 London residencies and partnered on bespoke projects for the likes of Heart Radio, Sorted Food, UKTV, Magic FM/EE (in partnership with Element London), Peligoni Club Zakynthos, Sunborn Gibraltar and Penguin.

FAQs

How many people can play a Moonstone case?
Our pre-written cases are available for most group sizes, ranging from 6-120 people. We can provide events for groups larger than 120 as a bespoke event, either as a free-roaming/ carousel multi-room experience or a staged format, with larger cast sizes and additional elements.
How long does the show take?
The show time does vary depending on a few factors, mainly if there is any hospitality plans to coinside with the case. For a case set around a 3 Course Meal, typical running time is 2 1/2-3 Hours (Accounting for course times). For played straight through, it is approximately 90-120 minutes (including a comfort break).
What is required on our side?
Our shows are built to work in most spaces (after performing on moving boats and trains not a lot that we can’t work with these days!). We require enough space in the event room for our performers to be able to move around freely during the show. There needs to be enough space on a table (for seated events) for guest Detective notepads and any clue sheets as well (please check with us depending on the plot-line how much space is needed). We also require a separate space the Actors can use as a Dressing Room during the show. This needs to be a secure room, not accessible to the general public, where possessions can be safely left and reaccessible during the event. Please note, a toilet is not suitable as a dressing room. Hot & Cold Drink refreshments are needed to keep our Actors well hydrated during the night! For shows around a dinner setting, our Actors also require a Main meal during the performance.
Do we have our own characters?
For our shows, all of the characters are played by our professional, experienced improv Actors. Guests attending the events will be assuming the role of the Detective team. Don’t despair however, as this way there is nothing to learn in advance, no risk of the murderer being revealed early on as someone’s blurted it out by mistake, and plenty of opportunity for you to interact with our suspects to test your sleuthing skills! Our events are designed for you to have maximum enjoyment trying to solve the case, with guests able to get involved as actively or passively as they feel comfortable with, without any worry or feeling pushed unwantingly into the spotlight. If there are guests who really want to play a character of some form, we can provide a list of Detective personas which they are welcome to select from in advance, to get into the feel of the event.
How many Actors do we get?
The number of actors varies on group size, but our cases typically have 3 Actors for smaller groups (1 Inspector & 2 Actors multi-rolling 4 Suspects), and 5 Actors for larger groups (1 Inspector & 4 Suspects). For bespoke events and if requested, we can look at increase the cast size for either numbers above our usual 120 cap or if you would like more to interaction time for your guests. However, we cannot reduce a cast size for our pre-written cases, as shows are designed that each suspect is written to be intertwined into the case, and we would never wish to cheat guestsd
