BMA House Encourages Event Planners to Make More of the Moment This Summer

The central London venue highlights the value of post-conference networking, with complimentary twilight room hire, as organisations look to rebuild connection, belonging and shared team culture.

BMA House is encouraging event planners to think beyond the formal conference agenda this summer, with a renewed focus on how extended time at the venue can help delegates connect, reflect and continue conversations after the programme has concluded.

As hybrid and home working continue to reshape how often colleagues, members and professional communities meet in person, the venue is seeing growing interest from organisers who want to make more of the occasions when people do come together. Rather than closing a conference at 17:00 and sending delegates straight home, BMA House is helping clients explore relaxed post-event formats that create space for networking, informal knowledge sharing and celebration.

Set around the venue’s private Courtyard, Garden and historic indoor spaces, these extended events can include everything from informal drinks receptions and garden games to low and no alcohol bars, wellbeing-focused socials, summer networking sessions and relaxed end-of-day celebrations.

The approach reflects a wider shift in how organisations are using meetings and conferences. For many teams and communities, a conference may now be one of the few moments in the year when everyone is in the same place. BMA House believes planners should treat that time as a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships, support belonging and create more meaningful shared experiences.

Hannah Robinson, Venue Manager at BMA House, said: “There is a real opportunity for organisers to think differently about the end of a conference or meeting. The formal programme may finish at five, but the value of bringing people together does not have to stop there. In fact, some of the most important conversations often happen once the agenda has ended, when delegates have time to reflect, reconnect and speak more openly.”

She continued: “With so many organisations now operating across hybrid or remote teams, in-person events are carrying more weight than ever. They are not just about content delivery, they are about culture, community and connection. Extending the day, even by a couple of hours, can make a significant difference to how people feel about the event and each other.”

Throughout the summer months, BMA House is also offering clients the opportunity to extend their event with complimentary room hire until 6pm, subject to availability. The offer is designed to support organisers who want to add value to their conference or meeting without significantly increasing the overall event budget.

The venue’s central London location, close to King’s Cross, Euston and Russell Square, also means delegates can stay on site after the main programme without the need to move to a separate bar, restaurant or reception venue. This helps keep momentum, encourages stronger attendance and allows organisers to create a more seamless delegate experience.

Hannah added: “We are seeing more organisers ask how they can make their event work harder. They have already invested in bringing people together, so it makes sense to use that time well. A relaxed summer reception, courtyard games or a low and no alcohol social can turn a strong conference into a more memorable, more human experience.”

BMA House offers a range of flexible indoor and outdoor spaces for conferences, meetings, receptions and summer events, including its private Courtyard and Garden, which provide a rare outdoor setting in the heart of central London.
