Studio 36 is Butlin’s fully flexible, high-tech entertainment venue, where headline acts perform on family breaks and where corporates can hire to exclusively hold their meetings and events. Originally launched in 2021 as a blank canvas venue for event organisers, Butlin’s has now completed work on its premium entertainment venue making it permanent and fit for purpose.

The upgrades include sound attenuation to allow for later opening and show flexibility as well top spec sound equipment installed to provide premium production finish for even the most rigorous of high-tech events and productions.

“We used Butlin’s Studio 36 for our event as we had a brief that required some production elements. We needed a space that allowed us to bring in our own creative, however we discovered Studio 36, to be “all encompassing” meaning that we didn’t need to bring any additional AV in and ultimately this helped save on costs too. We were hoping to return to Studio 36 to hold our event again next year, so hearing that it will now be a fixed venue, we can’t wait to come back annually”.

Additionally, Studio 36 has also been extended to create more space including a bar, cellar and new guest toilets. The revamped Foyer bar has a new fast dispense system supporting Butlin’s B-Serve app, which allows delegates flexible and speedy access to self-serve Cinema style treats and refreshments when attending their business event.

Butlin’s has unveiled a new look to the main fairground. Keeping to tradition, the fairground is accessed by a brand-new entrance with a unique 22-metre-long immersive tunnel, with synchronised light and sound. In total there will be 12 rides on the main fairground to enjoy in 2023. Guests and delegates alike will be able to have unlimited goes on the four new rides coming to Skegness, which are:

· Eclipse - The first of its kind in the UK. Riders are seated back-to-back, with legs dangling below, as the two arms intertwine for a thrilling, gravity-driven experience.

· Orbiter - Reach new heights with a bird’s-eye view of the Skegness resort as thrill seekers are lifted to the top of the 15-metre tower. Experience a series of ‘bounce and drop’ sequences, with the tower lighting up as you plunge back down.

· Santa Fe Train - Inspired by Butlin’s archives, this classic train ride with four covered carriages offers a gentle and enjoyable journey for all ages.

· Super Swing - Tots through to teens will feel the rush as this larger-than-life swing swoops 27 degrees. This stomach-floating ride lights up as it accelerates and will be a new favourite.

The fairground is frequently used by corporate groups as part of their events programme. Bringing colleagues back together after working remotely or reinspiring the team, enjoying the new look fairground leaves lasting memories and is a fun way for the team to bond.

This year, Butlin’s Skegness also opened the brand’s first SKYPARK–the UK’s most exciting playground that is all about inclusivity, interactivity and illumination. There are six different zones celebrating positive play emotions including epic climbing towers, thrilling tunnel slides and the UK’s longest interactive seesaw.

Open all day and into the night, all of the interactive amusements become illuminated once it gets dark outside. Of course, there is access for everyone with a conscious focus on ensuring all of SKYPARK is wheelchair friendly including ramps and rails. Along with new cafes and outside terraces for a place to relax when you need a refresh break.

Whether you are creating a festival-style event or hosting a high-tech conference, Butlin’s provides everything in one place to support your technical production and ensure a seamless planning process. Butlin’s has all the equipment and resources to provide end to end services that are delivered by experienced technical crews for an all-in-one cost.

The investment in the resort’s expansion and update has created approximately 30 new jobs as a result of these projects opening.
