In response to scientific studies which repeatedly show that spending time in nature enhances positive emotions and reduces stress, five-star Buxton Crescent Spa Hotel in the heart of The Peak District launches a choice of ‘Mindful Meetings’ in nature, complementing the hotel’s wellbeing offering and promoting happiness and productivity in the workplace.

Groups of up to ten delegates can enjoy the hotel’s luxurious accommodations, dining and award-winning spa around their meeting schedule and choose from one of four activities in the great outdoors. These include volunteering with the Peak Foundation, star gazing with a local expert, e-biking along one of many trails across The Peaks and walking in nature for their wellbeing. All activities are designed to bring people together to get to know each other better, learn and develop life skills against the stunning backdrop of The Peak District.

“We want to offer meetings and events experiences that go beyond the boardroom and make the most of our incredible location and access to nature. We know that when people focus on their own wellbeing, they are at their most happy so we look forward to welcoming groups and showing how combining work and wellbeing can encourage productivity at work.”

Lewis Howe, Director of Sales, Buxton Crescent Spa Hotel

Why meet at Buxton Crescent Spa Hotel? Originally built between 1779 – 1789 by the 5th Duke of Devonshire and boasting over 200 years of history, Buxton Crescent today has 81 elegant rooms and suites, and most importantly seven exquisite function rooms for hosting meetings and events. Suited to more intimate groups are The Blue Room, with its stand-out period features, The Card Room for complete privacy, and the formal The Boardroom with its large wood table and period panelling. Dinner can be served in the hotel’s newly rebranded restaurant, 1789 (aptly named after the year the Crescent was completed), where the best of British seasonal cuisine is celebrated and for any evening socialising, Darwin’s Bar and Lounge is a fashionable hotel bar serving craft ales, local gins and classic cocktails. Or private dining options are also available to allow guests to dine at their leisure.

When the hard work is done, delegates can enjoy free use of the Spa facilities, including the bio-thermal sauna combining steam and traditional sauna, the Aroma Steam Room, Relaxation Rooms, as well as the refurbished Victorian thermal pool filled with heated and healing Buxton mineral water and indoor-outdoor rooftop heated pool.
