Mash Media has released an industry support video as part of its #GetBritainMeeting campaign to showcase the true value of the events industry.

During the Covid-19 crisis, the events industry at large has suffered disproportionately, as not only have events in all forms been banned, but a lack of understanding as to the value and depth of the sector to the UK economy has been exposed.

Government support measures, in the forms of Coronavirus Business Interruption Loans and rates relief, have seen many events businesses fall through the cracks, and while the plight of sport, music and cultural events have received media attention, the scale of the damage to those operating and supplying conferences, meetings, and exhibitions has not.

The events industry is worth £70bn to the UK economy annually and employs approximately 700,000 people across conferences, meetings, incentive travel, exhibitions, and outdoor and cultural events.
