The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) has announced an extension to the deadline for this year’s miaList entries, responding to popular demand.
Originally set to close on 5 July, professionals in the business meetings and events sector now have until 12 July to nominate an inspirational individual or team who have significantly contributed to their organisation's success by going above and beyond.
The miaList remains free to enter, with nominations welcome from anyone working within or associated with the UK’s business meetings and events sector. This year’s individual titles are exclusive to MIA members.
This year, three new categories have been introduced: Best New Initiative, Event of the Year, and Campaign of the Year. These will be awarded during a glittering ceremony at Hilton Liverpool on Thursday 7 November.
Returning categories include the Team of the Year awards for Events & Operations, Sales & Marketing, as well as those representing Destinations.
Kerrin MacPhie, chief executive of the mia, stated: “Following a record number of entries last year, it's wonderful to see the continued high demand for spots on our esteemed list. After speaking with many who are currently preparing their entries, we decided to extend the deadline by one week to ensure as many individuals and teams as possible can be in with the chance of this prestigious recognition. We hope this encourages the industry to take advantage of this extended deadline.”
Completed nomination forms and portfolios of evidence must be submitted by close of play on Friday, 12 July.
