Make Venues, in partnership with its parent group, Make UK, has received plaudits across both the hospitality, and the manufacturing industries, as the organisation continues its support for the UK-wide Vaccination Programme.

Make Venues, has remained open during the pandemic, supporting the training and development of critical care workers. However, most recently, St John Ambulance worked with the business as part of its effort to train thousands of volunteers in support of the COVID Vaccinator Programme. The programme, which is the largest training programme and deployment of St John resources in its history, was carried out at Engineers’ House, the group’s Bristol-based venue. Working with St John Ambulance, the venue was able to support the organisation in training 1,000 volunteers over a six-week period.

Carl Makins, St John Ambulance’s Head of Volunteer Training commented: "We're grateful to the team at the Engineers’ House for playing a key role in supporting St John recruit and train almost 30,000 vaccination volunteers. The people trained in Bristol are essential to our ongoing efforts to support the NHS and help the nation get through the pandemic."

The involvement, and subsequent recognition from St John Ambulance, is just one of a number of supporting activities taking place within the Make UK group of companies. Over the last year the organisation has also helped support manufacturers across a range of sectors to provide equipment ranging from ventilators to PPE, as well as other medical supplies.

Through its business services, Make UK has also provided companies with health & safety advice, Covid risk management and employment advice to help protect jobs through the furlough scheme.

Speaking on the cross-business activity, David Vaughton, Managing Director, Make Venues, commented, “We’ve all been heartened by both the individual and collective efforts being made, across the business, to play our part in such an important, national, effort. It’s a source of real pride to us all that we can provide help through our hospitality and manufacturing brands, and to support something that is changing lives every day.”
