The PM has tonight addressed the nation briefly to deliver a change to the restrictions for England which could last up to six months.

These include:

  • Pubs, bars and restaurants must close at 22:00 from Thursday in England and Wales, and from Friday in Scotland
  • Retail staff and customers in indoor hospitality venues will also have to wear masks, except when seated at a table to eat or drink.
  • The emphasis is that office workers should now work from home wherever possible
  • Weddings will be limited to a maximum of 15 people although the guidelines for funerals will remain unaltered with a maximum of 30 people able to attend

News on whether business meetings for up to 30 people can still go ahead wasn't mentioned in this briefing.

More news to follow as we get it.
