With the first episode airing on Wednesday 6th April, The Great Home Transformation is a new Channel 4 series which sets out to transform family homes across the UK in just three days, with the assistance of one very special, life-changing truck.
In partnership with IKEA, this new six-part series from BBC Studios gives families who are living in houses and flats that are working against them, a home that instead functions well for them; delivered straight to their doorstep by this revolutionary Showplace truck – now more fondly known as The Truck of Wonder! The truck’s interior has been adapted to contain an immersive mobile mood board where each family will experience a tailored vision for an intelligently designed, attractive new family home environment. With no structural changes to the properties, the interior adaptations are implemented for each family’s specific activities and needs.
Throughout every episode, the show’s team will work diligently to create the best living spaces possible in just three days, ensuring that each family returns to what will feel like a brand new home. The Truck of Wonder, and its vast array of products, materials, ideas and inspirations, is instrumental in enabling Emma and Nick to identify innovative and sustainable design solutions to improve the lifestyles and living conditions of every participant.
The Great Home Transformation will be screened on Channel 4 at 8pm on Wednesdays, from 6th April 2022. The whole series will be available on All 4 once the first episode has been aired.
