As the days become longer thoughts and resolutions turn to being outside and enjoying new experiences. Oxford Official Walking Tours is responding to the seasonal shift, expanding its spring and summer programme to deliver on both those aspirations by showcasing Oxford at its finest.
The award-winning walking tours are operated by destination management organisation, Experience Oxfordshire, and whether a visitor or a resident, they are the perfect way to get to know the city better.
The most popular tour offered is the Oxford University & City Walking Tour during which, in addition to sharing historical facts, fables and gossip, guides can explain the collegiate aspect of the University, a concept with which visitors are often unfamiliar. Scheduled tours run four times daily with an extra tour on Saturdays. Due to demand, the frequency of tours is being ramped up this year to offer six tours a day during the summer holiday period.
Whilst those familiar with Oxfordshire will enjoy seeing the city of spires through new eyes, they may also be interested in joining visitors on one of Oxford Official Walking Tour’s hugely popular themed tours.

"The Easter holiday marks the true beginning of the tourism season, as longer spring days draw us into summer and invite people to experience everything Oxfordshire has to offer. With nearly 5.5 million day trips to Oxford each year, it’s clear that the city remains one of the UK’s most compelling destinations. Our guides play a vital role as the first point of contact for many visitors by welcoming them, bringing Oxford’s history to life, and helping shape how they explore the city. Oxford Official Walking Tours is proud to share the rich stories at the heart of Oxford with both visitors and residents alike.”
