The Belfry named one of The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work 2026

Cementing its status as one of the UK’s leading workplaces, the award-winning Belfry Hotel & Resort, in the Midlands, is thrilled to announce it has been named in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 being in the top ten for ‘Best Big Places to Work’.

Celebrating the UK’s top employers, the nationwide survey, conducted by The Sunday Times in partnership with employee experience platform WorkL, champions organisations that are leading the way in employee engagement, workplace culture and overall employee experience (the full list can be found here).

Chris Eigelaar, Managing Director of The Belfry Hotel & Resort, said: “To be recognised by The Sunday Times - and named among its top ten ‘Best Big Places to Work’ nationally - is something we’re incredibly proud of. Hospitality is all about people, which is why we continue to invest heavily in ours. From wellbeing to development and long-term career opportunities, we’ve seen first-hand that, when employees feel supported and valued, they achieve extraordinary things.

“What makes this recognition particularly special is the fact it celebrates an environment where people from all backgrounds and levels of experience can thrive. Many of our team joined us through work experience placements or training programmes, and it has been immensely rewarding to watch so many go on to build successful and fulfilling careers with us.”

This recognition follows on the back of a string of accolades for The Belfry which has recently been named in The Caterer’s ‘Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality’ for the third year running.

Priding itself on providing an inclusive and nurturing environment, the independent hotel offers employees fully-funded mental health support, a comprehensive menopause support package including specialised treatment, and greater flexibility with working hours to better balance professional and personal demands. This is as well as a generous benefits package and access to a range of talent development initiatives including a training programme for future leaders, an online learning platform, and a mentoring programme for executives.

Leading the way in creating opportunities for young people and inspiring them to long-term careers in hospitality, The Belfry also offers an abundance of apprenticeships, covering everything from greenkeeping to finance to leisure, and hosts hundreds of work experience placements every year. Over 500 of The Belfry’s employees have also found their calling because of its ‘Art of Hospitality’ training programme, a scheme dedicated to hiring individuals with limited experience but lots of determination and supporting them to reach their full potential.

“In an evolving world of work, Britain’s leading employers are helping staff forge careers that count today – and in the future. In turn, the Best Places to Work have the resilience to weather the current economic storms baked in, thanks to engaged workers who go above-and-beyond with a smile. Our winning employers span sizes and sectors…The thread joining them is the belief that a happy workforce is a stepping stone to better performance, faster growth, and bigger profits. More than that, there’s a collective instinct that a contented rank-and-file is a worthwhile business goal in and of itself.”
