Whittlebury Park has unveiled plans for a multi-million pound investment programme that will enhance facilities across the resort and support its continued growth as one of the UK’s leading event, spa, and golf destination resorts.
Set in 700 acres of Northamptonshire countryside and located next to the world-famous Silverstone circuit, Whittlebury Park has established a strong reputation for its combination of PGA-accredited championship golf, multi-award-winning spa facilities, a 3 AA Rosette restaurant, and extensive conference and event spaces.
Owned and operated by the Sargeant family, the resort is about to launch its Vacation Club holiday apartments, alongside a full refurbishment programme across the existing 254-bedroom hotel operation to elevate the experience for both leisure and corporate guests. The leisure investment includes the creation of a children’s outdoor play area, further enhancements to the award-winning spa to achieve a 5 Bubble Luxury rating, and a submitted planning application to build four indoor Padel courts.
As part of a wider sustainability strategy to become fully self-sufficient with on-site renewable energy and carbon-neutral within five years, a battery energy solar storage system is currently in its design phase. This system will significantly reduce environmental impact and create energy security. Ultimately, the multi-million pound investment programme will deliver a fully refurbished bedroom product running on green, self-generated energy, while enabling Whittlebury Park to expand its capacity for both overnight guests and large-scale events.
The latest investment represents a significant milestone in the resort’s long-term strategy to evolve its offering and respond to growing demand from guests across the leisure, staycation, wellness, and corporate markets. This includes supporting Whittlebury Park’s continued growth in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) sector—an area that has seen strong demand as businesses increasingly seek high-quality, sustainable destination venues for conferences, training, and corporate retreats.
Charles Sargeant, Managing Director, commented:
“This investment represents an exciting new chapter for Whittlebury Park as we continue to evolve the resort for the future. As an independent family business, we take enormous pride in consistently moving forwards. This investment will not only further strengthen our position as a leading destination for spa breaks, golf, conferences, and events, but also places us firmly in the UK staycation and the inbound exchange vacation markets. Our aim is to ensure guests continue to enjoy exceptional experiences while enabling the resort to grow and adapt to changing consumer expectations across both leisure and corporate markets.”
“This investment reflects both the strength of the Whittlebury Park brand and the continued demand we are seeing across leisure, wellbeing, and events markets. The development will allow us to introduce enhanced guest experiences along with an increased capacity, ensuring we remain highly competitive in a market where expectations around facilities and experiences continue to evolve. It also reinforces our commitment to delivering a destination that meets the unique demands of our diverse operation that welcomes corporate clients, leisure guests, and spa visitors.”
