Meet Rachel Lowther of The Venue Hunters

Rachel Lowther founded The Venue Hunters in Belfast in early 2019. She provides boutique free venue finding services for a broad range of corporate clients, taking the hassle and time suck out of finding amazing venues, and securing them at mind-blowing rates.

The needs of her clients span conferences, meetings and events, parties and celebrations, team building activities, private dining, incentive trips and hotel bedroom accommodation. What’s more, she’s regularly asked to find fabulous venues across the UK and also the rest of Europe.

It all adds up to an exponential amount of product knowledge to keep up with the game, let alone stay ahead of it!

For this purpose, it was the goldmine of useful information, clients and suppliers that got Rachel interested in The Delegate Wranglers in 2018, before officially launching her business.

She was eager to leverage the community for competitive edge, and she joined up with the following aims in mind:

• Expanding product knowledge
• Finding new suppliers
• Picking up new clients

So, how’s she getting on with membership three and a half years later?

Success Metric #1 – Growing Product Knowledge to Meet and Exceed Client Expectations

Rachel is used to simultaneously dealing with multiple venue finding enquiries from the sublime to the ridiculous. It’s all in a day’s work. But she can never be seen to be caught on the hop!

“Constantly topping up your product knowledge is key to success in this game. But you can’t have eyes everywhere”, Rachel explained. “So, I turn to The Delegate Wranglers Facebook group when enquiries come in that I’m short on ideas for.”

In fact, she recently sourced the perfect venue that helped her bag a juicy £600K+ series of training courses.

“As a direct result, the client ended up booking a venue neither I nor them were previously aware of. Better still, they’ve used it again since, and it’s now one of their preferred venues.”

Success Metric #2 – Sourcing Outstanding Suppliers for Win:Win Solutions
Having an engaged and proactive supplier base is essential for event success. But it becomes invaluable when there’s a need for speed, in order to reduce the laborious amount of time calling, emailing and chasing up responses when you needed help yesterday!

Rachel experienced its power firsthand, when an existing supplier of fairground rides let her down last minute. So, she turned to The Delegate Wranglers Facebook group for urgent help with her client’s festival event.

“Within an hour and a half of posting, a supplier was on the way to the event to set up”
, she confirmed.

That’s what you call clawing success from the brink of disaster!

Success Metric #3 – Winning New Busines

New business acquisition is the gold standard every member aspires to.

Rachel has found success in this area in two different ways:

1) Collaboration not Competition – Inviting referrals from other venue finding agents and event management companies, for event types they don’t usually deal with, e.g. Covid testing sites and Christmas parties

2) Promotional Opportunities – Submitting consistent and engaging content for the weekly Supplier Hour, every Wednesday at 1.00-2.00pm, and the weekly Superstar Hour, on Mondays at 1.00-2.00pm. This recently resulted in a new enquiry from a new client, which confirmed at BMA House in London.

The Sweetest Feeling

Overall, Rachel can’t speak highly enough about the benefits of throwing herself headfirst into The Delegate Wranglers.
