For our latest SUPPLIER FOCUS feature, we caught up with the fab Cristina Tataran, Director of Sales at the fab Mercure Walton Hall Hotel & Spa in Warwickshire to find a little bit about her and this fab venue!
Q. In a nutshell, tell us about your business and your role there
A. I am probably one of the luckiest people working in hotel sales to have such a versatile and gorgeous venue as Mercure Walton Hall Hotel & Spa to offer to our clients. As the Director of Sales of the hotel, I get involved in all commercial areas of the business, spreading the word about our unique facilities.
Q. How did you get started in the industry?
A. I always found the hospitality industry fascinating and so I fell in love with hotels. The level of knowledge needed, attention to detail, the beauty of our products and the extensive commercial acumen are amazing. All the energy and dedication that goes into a sales role had me hooked to start my career in this amazing industry when I have been fortunate enough to start my career having a fantastic mentor during my very first hotel sales role.Q. Best moment for you at your company so far?
A. Difficult question – I love my job, my team, the company I work for and our clients. I could easily class every day as the best in the company so far. The first site visit when I saw all the insights into Walton Hall, seeing the expressions of our clients when I show them the facilities, an internal business review that feels like a collaboration meeting; I could carry on forever taking about how amazing my job is working for Amaris Hospitality.
Q. How can your organisation’s services make a Delegate Wrangler’s life easier?
A. I will start with what I believe is the most important - we listen to what our clients need. From contemporary facilities, to beautiful and grand event spaces, at Mercure Walton Hall Hotel & Spa we have something for everyone’s taste. Our guest sits at the core of our team where from events, training, long stays, a quick business trip, to weddings, leisure breaks and club events, we look after our guests and welcome them to our hotel, just as we would welcome them into our own home.
Q. And finally - you’ve got one question to ask a famous person – who would it be and what would you ask?
A. I am a huge fan and have the most respect for the people who have the resilience, determination and drive to achieve their goals. One of the people that I find truly inspirational when it comes to these traits is Judith Wood who continues to have a huge impact on so many lives. So my question for her would be – “how does she overcome so many challenges and barriers that are thrown at her with every one of her cases with such an amazing resilience”.
