For our latest Supplier Focus feature we caught up with Monika Germishuys of RA Venues to find a little bit about her and this fab organisation!
Q. In a nutshell, tell us about your business and your role there
A. RA Venues is a part of Compass Group – the biggest catering company in the world. We look after historic and heritage properties such as museums, historic houses, castles, zoo’s. Our events always come with an unforgettable experience, great service and delicious food. Personally, I look after Southern venues such as Churchill War Rooms, HMS Belfast, IWM Duxford, Hatfield House, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle, Somerset House.
Q. How did you get started in the industry?
A. My journey started 13 years ago. After Uni I went to work as receptionist at Botleigh Grange Hotel in Southampton and then moved to London the year after. I started working at hotels such as Mint (currently Hilton), Grange where my carrier development and love for hospitality started. I stayed within hotels for the next 5 years and then moved to non residential venues in Canary Wharf where I worked as Account Manager for major financial institutions. In 2016 I decided to try luck within unusual and unique venues and I have been working for RA Venues since then. I am very proud to represent our amazing portfolio of 30 cultural sites all over UK.
Q. Best moment for you at your company so far?
A. Winning the biggest contract for one of my sites and maintaining the relationship up to now for the rest of the portfolio. I am also very proud to look after a special project for the group that so far brings around £200k quarterly.
Q. How can your organisation’s services make a Delegate Wrangler’s life easier?
A. We have many properties all over UK. Happy to accommodate external events for customers and colleagues. We are also well known within the industry and can promote the great relationship with DW.
Q. And finally - you’ve got one question to ask a famous person – who would it be and what would you ask?
A. Boris Johnson. Does he really believe that Brexit will make a positive impact on business in UK?
