BMA House

We love historic buildings. And we loved BMA House. It has that perfect blend of authentic and impressive features and modern, cutting edge facilities. When you factor in it's location, the sheer number of options available in terms of meeting & reception spaces, you can't go wrong. That's not even mentioning the two gorgeous outdoor spaces (a real luxury for central London) and stunning rooms like the Great Hall. We loved the place and we're sure you will too.

Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, this beautiful Grade II listed building is, in a word, STUNNING. Built in 1911, the venue has been in its current state since 1925. With 22 glorious meeting rooms, it is suitable for conferences or dinners alike. BMA House truly has got something for everyone and all in a stunning piece of architecture and fab location. As you will see, we really loved this one.

BMA House is famous for being a landmark venue steeped in history in the heart of London. It's also the beating heart of the British Medical Association and therefore sits at the cutting edge of scientific research and medical knowledge too. This deep-seated passion for innovation and excellence runs through the whole of the organisation, including their event facilities and planning skills. And as you approach BMA House, you can't help but be massively impressed by the place. The first treat is the impressive wrought iron Gates of Remembrance, dedicated in 1925 by the Archbishop of Canterbury - and they are a real wow factor! Through this entrance, you are straight into the beautiful Courtyard - surrounded by this historic building - more of this later. These gates can be used for evenings and weekend events - perfect for a wedding, dinner or awards and a brilliant way to impress your clients and guests.

For daytime events through the week, you enter via the main reception entrance - upon which you are greeted and directed to your conference room by the helpful and friendly staff here. Once inside, you are struck by the nods to the past everywhere. There are so many historical figures linked to BMA House, it's VERY impressive and something your clients will love - particularly scientific and pharmaceutical clients for example. For instance, in their tranquil Garden is the site of Charles Dickens’ home from the 1850s, and some of the original bricks can still be found here. To strengthen this nod to history even further, the majority of their meeting rooms are named after famous doctors, who have each greatly contributed to the advancement of medicine.

One thing that the venue is extremely good at is technology and how they are geared up for live streaming or whatever you might need. Their in-house team pride themselves on the functionality of their technology in every meeting room.

From top to bottom, everything here has an extremely good finish and no corners have been cut with the design or maintenance. We loved it!

In terms of catering, this is something that BMA House pride themselves on. From the lovely Garden Cafe with its wide selection of food and beverages on offer and relaxed seating, it's the ideal place to have some lunch or catch up on a bit of work too. We especially loved the access from here to the lovely outdoor space that is the lush botanical Garden, which is tucked away between the neighbouring buildings and is an oasis of calmness with its. A rare thing in central London. This space is perfect for summer parties and elegant drinks receptions of up to 90 people.

As mentioned earlier, BMA House boasts not only one but two, outdoor spaces. Which brings us to the elegant Courtyard which sits right in the middle of the BMA House buildings and in a word is Gorgeous! Accommodating up to 320 guests, this shared daytime space can also be used for lunches in the summer and is the perfect place to start any dinner event with an elegant drinks reception. One thing about BMA House and its fab staff is their flexible and can-do approach to working with clients. An example of this is during the 2012 Olympics when they became the hospitality home for Nike’s sports athletes and their families.

Married to this flexibility is their attitude to sustainability & wellbeing - something they really pride themselves on. From plastic and paper-free events to locally sourced produce for catering, they ensure every aspect of their work is as kind to the planet as possible. And we also loved the 'Clean Air Walking Route' they have developed with Cross River Partnership, which offers a healthier, and cleaner, walking route from Kings Cross to BMA House. The route takes guests off the busy Euston Road onto backstreets where air pollution is 57% lower. More info on all aspects of this HERE

And in particular for their catering, BMA House are proud to work with CH&CO who's reputation goes before them. Their chefs use only the finest seasonal ingredients and their British-inspired menus are both innovative and nutritious. They also expect suppliers to adhere to the same high ethical and sustainability standards as themselves and source local produce wherever possible. Reinforcing the sustainability attitude throughout here - more details HERE
