The gorgeous Chateau Impney building really is something else. You feel the history as you travel through the grounds and enter this glorious building. When you also factor in the stunning bedrooms in the main Chateau and a HUGE amount of conference room options, you should definitely take a look at Chateau Impney. It’s really worth a site inspection for meetings both large and small. And when I say large, I’m talking about a venue that can host 1,250 delegates in theatre style! Not many places can offer that – especially in such a beautiful setting.

Built in 1875, Chateau Impney is one of the finest, most authentic examples of French chateau-style buildings in the UK and it really hits you as you drive up through its glorious grounds to the entrance of this Grade II listed hotel. Not only does it house a glorious Grand Ballroom in the main Chateau but also a staggering further 24 conference spaces (inc a suite for 1,250 delegates) in its purpose built conference centre right next to the hotel

First impression: Wow! What an entrance - you drive through the hotel grounds up to the Chateau which lies up above you which is super impressive. A real wow factor. What strikes you the most is the glorious architecture of the building and the sprawling grounds it is surrounded by. Amazing.

Parking: This was a dream as the hotel has free parking spaces for up to 1000 cars!! Wow!

Coach / Bus Pick-up Location at hotel: Again this is really easy due to the masses of space surrounding the hotel. A large coach can easily pull up right outside the main hotel entrance for loading / unloading. There are even designate spaces for a coach to park. I wish all hotels were like this.

Lobby: The lobby was really nice and welcoming. Although not a massive area it was very tastefully laid out. One part of the lobby area houses two historic cars which are there to promote the yearly Chateau Impney Hill Climb car event and although this sounds unusual, they definitely add to the charm of the lobby. The receptionist (Leah) was super helpful and friendly - perfect!

Number of bedrooms: 74 bedrooms (including 24 suites / exec rooms / luxury doubles) in the main Chateau and also 9 self-catering Impney apartments. There are a number of other older bedrooms which are currently not for sale as they are due for redevelopment – watch this space. My bedroom was a very nice room in the Chateau on the first floor overlooking the grounds. To say it was large was an understatement. Super high ceilings and a fabulous bathroom, it had everything. It was lovely and quiet as well - due to the location of the hotel.

Number of floors: Three and a basement which is the home to the bar & restaurant

Wi-fi: Yes, high speed, totally free and worked well all over the Chateau and the conference centre

Business Centre: No but can use the hotel reception for photocopying and small levels of printing

Fitness gym: No but can use a nearby Gym with a voucher from the hotel

Swimming Pool: No but can use a nearby pool with a voucher from the hotel

RESTAURANTS & BARS

The Impney Restaurant & Bar situated in the basement is a great place to be, full of light and has a really contemporary feel - very tastefully decorated. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced. I had steak & hand cut chips and I could eat it all again right now! It was that good. Service for dinner and breakfast was also very attentive and I was made to feel very welcome.

The choice of meeting / conference rooms in the Chateau is quite simply, astounding. From small meeting rooms in the Chateau right up to the massive Broadway Suite, which can host up to 1,250 pax in theatre style, there is something for every type of event. The main Chateau is the home to the gorgeous Grand Ballroom whilst the adjacent purpose built conference centre has 24 conference rooms with masses of options. A large car park (free) behind the conference centre is also really useful for private events.

LOADING / UNLOADING: Very easy at this venue - access to the large meeting rooms in the conference centre are all very straightforward with event the possibility of bringing cars into some of the large rooms. Perfect!

Broadway Suite

This purpose built suite is the largest conference space in the hotel and is located in the separate conference centre (next to the hotel). It has its own large stage and is very wide. It also has a large balcony area overlooking the room too. This is perfect for large conferences, dinners, concert / performances, weddings, award ceremonies, dinner dances, and much more. It also has a very large foyer area with its own separate entrance, as well as its own WC facilities, dressing rooms, loading bay, bar and organisers office. Loved this room!! Very big and very versatile.

Royal Suite

The Royal Suite is located just a short walk from the main Chateau and is one of the larger suites at the Chateau Impney. It has a separate entrance foyer and cloakroom. There’s free parking for 100 vehicles, air conditioning and adjoining rooms – perfect for storage, serving refreshments or as a breakout area. The adjoining Elizabethan Suite is also ideally placed for welcome drinks.

Elizabethan Suite
