The Dublin Royal Convention Centre is part of a stunning new development around the Le Pole square, a 9th century Viking settlement. This brilliant modern venue is a perfect blend of high quality modern functionality, and sleek Scandinavian, while being accompanied by amazing hotel and spa facilities across the square!
With the whole development unveiled in 2022, The Dublin Royal Convention Centre is the crown jewel of this brand new setting in the crux of the Irish capital! The convention centre shares the square with a 254 bedroom Radisson Blu and the absolutely stunning Velvaere Spa, with each of the facilities complimenting each other perfectly - ticking all of the boxes for event managers!
There are five meeting spaces at The Dublin Royal Convention centre, with the Douglas Hyde Suite being their headline offering - a vast, stunning blank canvas hall with all the tech, catering and capabilities you’d ever need to put on a one-of-a-kind expo. The other four meeting spaces are smaller and more flexible, with their ability to double up, or be used as breakout rooms absolutely fantastic - there’s so many opportunities to put on a really exciting event here.
Thirty minutes from the nearest airport and just ten from Heuston Railway Station, this is a supremely located venue for both international and domestic clients at your event. There are also two spaces for coach parking outside the venue so that delegates traveling together can seamlessly enter the facility.
Seamless really is the word too, with the entire building flowing so well, entrances take you straight into the action of the meeting spaces available, and each floor and space is as accessible as the last. From inside the Dublin Royal Convention centre, you can take in views of the adjacent multi story Velvaere spa, which offers amazing wellness treatments that we thought would combine brilliantly with an away day and stay.
The Velvaere has a full thermal experience as well as five treatment rooms and a dedicated express medi-chair for fast and focused treatments on the go - perfect for a busy event professional on a stressful day if you ask us.
Sustainability is vitally important for the Dublin Royal, and they have an amazingly detailed sustainability plan that includes some really impressive and unique initiatives. As well as not using any single use plastics, decreasing water wastage and making all chocolate tea and coffee in the venue fairtrade, the venue has also committed to have less than 20% food waste co2 emissions and use 100% recyclable products in the near future.
We love a venue that has put as much thought into its impact as it has its event spaces - and let us tell you, there’s thoughtfulness in abundance at this convention centre - most notably with their team of lovely, professional staff who had a proactive, can-do approach that genuinely impressed us.

As you enter the venue on the street level, that faces just off the Le Pole square itself, you’re greeted with a huge, open foyer area - flooded with natural light. We were really impressed by the design sensibilities within the whole buildings, they’re modern yet interesting and tasteful - the wooden detailing on the staircase and ceiling fixture is a really impressive, smart design choice that makes the foyer feel so much more homely.
As you make your way past the stairs and the registration desk. You’ll find the venue's main bar, which is in the space before the entrance to the venue’s biggest room and main conferencing facility, Douglas Hyde Suite. The bar is well designed and large enough to cater for a large number of delegates who’d be attending your conference or expo at the Douglas Hyde suite.
The accessibility of this venue is really impressive and that extends to this bar and foyer area which has an accessible height bar and registration desks. The bar is also located right next to the accessible toilets which are on the ground level.
As you go up the stairway, you’ll be greeted by some of the smaller meeting and breakout rooms that are available at this venue. This level opens up to the central square and its greenery! You’re also minutes away from some of the biggest attractions in Dublin here, including Dublin Castle, Grafton Street, and Trinity College. We really love the simple layout inside - the space feels geared towards supporting the wonderful Douglas Hyde room, while also feeling like any of the spaces could be your very own main event!
The meeting space on offer here is brilliant. Purpose built, the Dublin Royal Convention Centre boasts 1190 sq. metres of meeting space across the two floors, which consists of the main plenary room, four break-out rooms, and impressive exhibition space.
The pre-conference space that we mentioned before, with the bar and open, airy feel, is 446 sq. metres and suitable to serve refreshments, lunches and pre-dinner drinks.
It’s also worth noting that there’s a plethora of meeting rooms in the adjacent Radisson Blu hotel that can provide smaller, more focussed spaces for things like board meetings or training sessions. Rooms like The Sky Suite which has incredible views of the Dublin Skyline from the 7th floor, or The Writers Room, are brilliant formal and informal spaces that can be suited to meet any requirements your event may have.
Goldsmiths Hall in the Radisson also has hybrid connectivity with the Dublin Royal Convention centre which makes it an incredible complimentary space for your use!
It’s worth remembering the sheer quality of catering available to come along with your event, The Douglas Hyde Suite, The Higgins Suite and The Robinson Suite are the three best places to have your private dining needs sorted - the team here can provide packages that cater for delegates with fresh, locally sourced food from their exciting menus!
