Hampton by Hilton Torquay

Overlooking the English Riviera, the Hampton by Hilton Torquay is close to the marina with direct access to the Harbour. This brand new hotel has fresh, modern and clean interiors with a lovely open plan lobby, but the star of the show is their industrial feel, open plan meeting space, which we absolutely loved!

Situated in a great location, right in the centre of Torquay, this brand new hotel is just 800 metres from Beacon Cove Beach and less than 1 km from Torre Abbey Sands Beach. And whilst the harbour is just a two minute walk away, you can also feel nicely out of the hustle and bustle of the waterfront as you can watch the world go by from the hotel's lofty position.

Hampton by Hilton have worked with local artist Bert & Buoy whose iconic use of coastal colours and nautical motifs are prominently displayed throughout the hotel, including a fishy feature wall. And in keeping with that theme, it runs all the way through to the bedrooms, which feature their artwork, so even if it’s a flying business visit, you’ll never forget you are at the seaside. And we loved it!

This lovely, brand new property is in a wonderful location, with 133 bedrooms making it one of the largest hotels in the region. And the bedrooms are lovely too, with the right blend of functional and funky, you'll love them!

On top of the funky leisure side of the hotel, it also benefits from being brand new, and has a super cool, and wonderful and refreshingly different, meeting space called: ABOUT space but more of that later...

From the crystal clear waters and stunning scenery, Torquay sits in a world renowned GeoPark and it's a glorious place to hold your next conference, meeting, team building break or directors meeting. But it's not all just about the serious stuff, the town is going to be hosting the first SUP championships too, as part of a 4 year plan to bring international level competition. This two day event will include a festival of stand up paddle board races, activities, demonstrations and presentations. Focusing on bringing the joy of SUP to families through to elite athletes, the Torbay SUP Championships will take SUP in the UK to a whole new level of 'blue space' activity.

In terms of F&B options here, the hotel has a lovely restaurant and bar, located in the large open plan reception / lobby area which you see as soon as you enter the hotel as it immediately draws you in. We had some food there and we can hotely say that it was a really nice place to spend a few hours. Not only was the food fantastic with lovely, friendly service but it was also a very welcoming space to relax, and even do some work. There was plenty of space to be as private or as sociable as you want.

We loved the meeting space here because it is really unique and different! Their newly refurbished ABOUT event space, is big, bright and really airy, with huge floor to ceiling windows and a very industrial feel, which is a really pleasant surprise and very unique - we loved it! The 892 sq.m of space is really flexible, and can be split off into smaller meeting spaces with movable partitions, enabling you to be able to create numerous breakout rooms and different zones, whilst all within the one large space! It was VERY cool.
