Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia

As you can probably tell, we absolutely loved our time here at the Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia – it’s not often that you are lucky enough to visit a hotel that has absolutely everything – friendly staff, excellent meeting spaces, great bar & restaurant, super comfortable bedrooms, a wonderful spa and then there’s the fantastic activities on offer for your groups at the Adventure Parc. This is what really stands this property out as unique. The ability to offer both formal meeting spaces and team-building / relaxing activities all under one roof. Wow. And then there’s the scenery – book a site visit now and you’ll be absolutely blown away by the place.

The brand new, £13m Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia opened in May 2021 and what a wonderful addition it is it to the Welsh hospitality industry.

Boasting 106 bedrooms including some suites, a fabulous spa, a superb gym and an activity list as long as your arm, this property and the accompanying Adventure Parc Snowdonia delivered on so many levels during our stay.

Located in the foothills of Snowdonia, the hotel was only some 15 minutes from the main North Wales coast road, but the tranquillity and natural beauty of the place is there for all to see and feel.

As you approached the hotel, the first thing you notice is the huge 300m lagoon of the Adventure Parc, with its amazing wave fin creating 17 fantastic surfable waves every hour. Then you reach the hotel with its elegant design which is very sympathetic to the landscape, and you know that no corners have been cut in both the thought process & build of the property.

Once parked, we loved the beautiful, landscaped areas directly outside the hotel, which contained pathways and benches – ideal to take in the breath-taking hills all around you.

Once inside the lobby, which is full of natural light, you are greeted by the welcoming staff on the reception desk, and after a quick check in process, or using the Hilton’s online check in service, you’re off and away to your bedroom. It is worth pointing out that the staff were really friendly throughout our stay, something that is super important but very easy to overlook.

The lobby is the central point of access to most of the hotel with the bar, restaurant and spa to once side and the meeting rooms and lifts to the other.

Bedrooms:
There are 106 bedrooms, including 3 lagoon-facing suites, and 3 woodland-view suites. All rooms benefit from Hilton’s keyless entry, where you can use your phone to gain access to the rooms. Loved this!

Some of the rooms boast views of the Adventure parc’s lagoon and they are fantastic. We stayed in one of the suites and not only was it spacious but very well appointed, with a fantastic bathroom (including separate show and bath) but plenty of full length windows to take in those views.

All in all, the bedrooms were fabulous not only in design but also in practicality – meaning it was very easy to have a peaceful night’s rest here.

Number of floors: 4

Wi-fi: Complimentary throughout the hotel and was excellent – very fast and stable.

Fitness centre: Located on the first floor, the gym was fantastic for a hotel of this size, lots of natural light too. With plenty of cardio equipment and free weights, this is the perfect hotel gym – really well equipped.

The Wave Garden Spa
This gorgeous slice of relaxation really compliments the hotel and the surrounding natural beauty.

With views across the waves of the glorious surf lagoon, right through to the Snowdonia mountains beyond, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Here you can take in a relaxing indoor / outdoor thermal journey, complete with saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs, as well as having a luxurious treatment or massage.

The spa boasts four treatment rooms with a range of Thalgo and bespoke Tribe517 treatments, as well as a double hammam for steam-based cleansing and purifying rituals.

We were lucky enough to try out the Wave Garden Spa and all we can say is that we didn’t want to leave!

ADVENTURE PARC SNOWDONIA
Situated on the hotel’s grounds is the amazingly, action packed Adventure Parc Snowdonia and what a feast of activities they have on offer for you and your groups. With both indoor and outdoor activities available, you are totally spoilt for choice in terms of the things you can do here. For instance, you can learn to surf or paddleboard here in their amazing lagoon, or if you prefer dry land, you can have a go at a climbing wall, the massive zip line or even free-fall drop.

Not to mention the exhilarating pump track – a smooth asphalt track to ride around on bikes, or even have a go on the carver skate bowl.

There’s even the nature-inspired, Adrenaline Indoors building which offers high-thrills adventure experiences for all ages including ninja assault & high wire courses, extreme slides, fantastic indoor climbing walls and more.

We were lucky enough to have a go at paddle boarding, which is an excellent activity for you and your groups – needless to say one of us was excellent at this and one of us was rubbish. Let’s just say my skills are more land based I reckon!

It’s worth pointing out that the parc can work with groups of all different sizes, by splitting them into various activities and swapping over. And all equipment can be hired for this and any of the activities on offer here.

RESTAURANTS & BARS
It’s fair to say that the bar here is a real feature and one that the hotel should be really proud of – Zephyr’s was super stylish and once the covid restrictions are lifted, I can see many a good night being had here. Lots of seating by the bar, in the lounge or outside taking in that view made for a really warm & welcoming space. Zephyr’s also provided foo in case you needed a more relaxed place to grab a bite to eat.

The restaurant is just a few steps further on from Zephyr’s and once again benefiting from views over the lagoon and the surrounding hills it was hard to fault. During our stay, we had absolutely fantastic service, glorious food and a really lovely experience in the bar and restaurant.

MEETING / CONFERENCE ROOMS
There are four meeting rooms in the hotel and all of them are situated on the ground floor just off the lobby area, which allows really good accessibility.

Its worth pointing out the technical side of things is really well covered at the hotel as well – we very impressed with the built in projectors, screen and sound system throughout.

When you enter though the lovely double doors, you are immediately greeted by a fantastic open breakout space, which has a mixture of seating options, some tall tables, some lounge seats and a lovely bar at the far end. All of the meeting rooms are located off this space, so this would be the ideal place to do registration as well as coffee & lunch breaks for your groups.

The Snowdon
The Snowdon room is the largest in the hotel at 180Sq.M. and we absolutely loved this room. With double doors straight in from the breakout space, it was full of natural light, including lagoon and mountain views. With space for 190 people for a drinks reception set-up or theatre style, this room would be perfect for a wedding, awards ceremony or conference.
