Hyatt Regency Manchester

Purpose-built in Manchester’s innovation district and set among landscaped gardens, the Hyatt Regency is one of the city’s newest and most forward-thinking venues. When we visited, we discovered a really fresh venue with a bold vision for meetings and events that got us excited!

The Hyatt Regency Manchester is amazingly located, right in the heart of Manchester’s up and coming innovation district. With 9 meeting spaces, there’s plenty to choose from when figuring out what kind of room you might need for your next event. The meeting rooms on the 18th floor are spectacular and truly set this venue apart with their stunning views and terraced spaces that look out over the Manchester Skyline.

The rest of the facilities here are just as fab - stylish, flexible, and thoughtfully designed. The bedrooms are superb, while the bar and restaurant are hidden gems in their own right. Not to mention the Hyatt Regency is perfectly positioned right in between Manchester’s two major football clubs, it’s hard to beat. Surrounded by generous green space, this smart new hotel is buzzing with all of the exciting opportunities of this growing area of the city as soon as you walk in - so let’s tell you about when we did just that!

Before we enter the Hyatt Regency Manchester though, it’s worth noting just how much of a dream it is to get to this hotel, mainly thanks to Manchester’s excellent public transport setup. If you’re arriving by train, it’s an easy 35 minutes from Manchester airport, and an even shorter trip from there by car - just 20 minutes! For delegates travelling to the venue domestically, it’s only roughly ten minutes’ walk from Manchester Oxford Road train station - so it’s safe to say, they’ve got getting to the Hyatt nailed down.

Although there’s no on-site parking, however the team here have negotiated special rates for those staying as part of your event, at The University of Manchester, Car Park D which is situated directly behind the hotel – only a one-minute walk away. The car park also offers 17 disabled spaces and 8 electric vehicle charging bays too. For teams arriving by coach, there’s parking space on site to get your delegates straight through the door!

Speaking of the front door, the lobby to the Hyatt Regency Manchester is at the bottom of a lush, grassy walkway. When you step inside the space is multiple stories high, with gorgeous floor to ceiling glass surrounding you. We felt like this was such a great introduction into the venue and seemed to exemplify everything that the hotel stands for in one fantastic space. The staff on reception were exceptional and really provided service that matched the lofty standards of this venue.

Next up for us, before checking out the meeting rooms or the dining spaces, was to have a peruse of the plethora of bedrooms available at the Hyatt Regency Manchester. What really took us aback about the rooms here was the consistency of the bedrooms. There are 212 bedrooms in the building, and every single one of them is a home run - we really mean it. Every bedroom has floor to ceiling windows - which means no awkward corner rooms with tiny windows, or bedrooms with no space - every single room has a plush king-sized bed. The Hyatt Regency’s rooms also come with everything guests can come to expect from a Hyatt hotel when staying at this venue for your event - free Wi-Fi, 40+ inch tv’s and here; gorgeous views of the Manchester cityscape.

While the team showed us around, they also chatted to us about their World of Hyatt Membership program. Hotel memberships can be hit and miss - but we were really shocked when we did some of our own research into their program and found that just 3500 points can pay for a free night’s stay at one of their hotels. Members of this program also get constant discounts at about 20% off for Hyatt’s incredible hotels worldwide - particularly in Asia and Africa. Anyone fancy a post conference holiday?!

Nevertheless, we tucked in for a great night's sleep at the Hyatt, quite excited for the day ahead, which would be touring plenty of great meeting, dining and leisure spaces at the hotel.

We got up nice and early and had an absolutely killer breakfast. A lovely omelette made to order, cooked perfectly! We ate in the hotel's restaurant - The Laureate. This is a really lovely dining space with a team that prides themselves on family tradition and culinary heritage. If our brekkie was anything to go off - that approach is working.

The Hyatt Regency Manchester also has a bar which we checked out right after eating. The space is called The Graduate Bar, and is really laid back, comfortable, with a social focus. We loved just how much natural light floods this space, a feature of nearly every main space in this modern hotel.

The team here pointed out The Atrium to us, which was a special semi-private area of the Graduate Bar that is huge, even more bright than the bar itself, with a gorgeous high ceiling. This is a great spot for informal dinners, drinks or even a smaller networking area. There are catering possibilities that are off the scale, all on offer here, the list of options for your event might as well be endless with how flexible and tireless the brilliant catering team here are!

For when you’ve got fitness focussed delegates, or you need a workout before the workday starts, the Hyatt Regency Manchester has a 24/7 fitness centre on the first floor. And would you guess it? It’s flooded by natural light! This is a fully stacked gym space that also features a space for massages, hair, nails and skin treatments that can be booked by guests from 8am - 10pm. A really cool quirk we loved about the gym was that the Peloton bikes in the space allow you to earn World of Hyatt points by riding! An even quicker way to get saving up those 3500.

The terrace space outside the dining areas is a gorgeously kept, lush green outdoor space, that’s as beautiful as it is thanks in no small part to the Hyatt’s fantastic sustainability efforts. You’ll notice these efforts first hand in the sensor lights, paper straws and digital room entry around the hotel (no keycard wastage!). All these fantastic efforts allow this gorgeous outdoor space to feel like a city oasis, private and perfect for small groups!

Now for the star of the show. Well, stars, as there’s plenty of stellar meeting spaces at this hotel - 9 to be precise. Trust us when we say every single one of them felt worthy of a meeting space highlight. Spaces like the 1000 sq ft Lewis Room, with its space for up to 100 delegates, and huge floor to ceiling windows are everywhere in this amazing building, with 7 of the 6 spaces capable of holding 50+ PAX.

There’s also plenty of more intimate rooms like the Turing Room, with a capacity of 20, a gorgeous marble boardroom table and U-shaped sofa that promotes a more social vibe in this space - perfect for brainstorming sessions or more informal team meetings. All of the spaces come with great, modern rig-outs too. One of the many plus points of this being a brand-new hotel is that nothing feels out of date, and 60” monitors/tip top projectors become standard!

For larger events, the Conference & Events Lobby is the ideal spot for your registration desk. It’s perfectly placed at the heart of the meeting spaces and bathed in that same natural light we keep going on about - from a stunning four-story atrium. Overlooking the Graduate Bar & Terrace, the space offers a stylish first impression with elegant seating, a marble-topped bar, and sophisticated lighting. Behind the scenes, getting ready/tearing down your event is no issue at all, with a dedicated ground-floor loading bay ensuring smooth access in and out of the venue.

MEETING SPACE HIGHLIGHT: The Rothwell Suite

The star of the show when it comes to event spaces at the Hyatt Regency Manchester is The Rothwell Suite. It’s the biggest and most flexible space at the hotel - and it made an instant impression on us. The Rothwell is on the second floor and filled with natural light, it’s spot-on for everything from annual conferences to awards dinners and drinks receptions. There's room for up to 230 people, and the layout options are super versatile—whether you’re going theatre-style, cabaret, or full-on banquet. We also found this space to be very well-equipped too, with inbuilt AV, projection and LED display tech already in place. And if you don’t need the whole space? It can be split into two separate rooms without losing any of the style.

The Bernstein Suite combines three rooms into one bright, flexible space. It’s got loads of natural light once again, not one but two ceiling projectors (that both feature big drop-down screens) and space for up to 140 people depending on the setup. We thought this was the hotel's most versatile space - a great all-rounder on the second floor.

Wow, wow, wow. All you need to do is take one step into the room on the 18th floor, and look out of the gigantic windows, to know how special this space is. For your super-executive events, when you’re looking to stun guests with an amazing 100 capacity room, and views that might be some of the best in Manchester - this airy, sleek meeting space is the perfect answer. The room is simple, but plenty welcoming, with a real air of class about it. What a way to go out!
