Collaboration, inspiration, community and good vibes only!
Nestled within 2,500 acres of rolling parkland lies Knowsley Hall, a stunning and elegant stately home brimming with history. This private venue which is home to The Earl & Countess of Derby has an air of excitement, exclusivity, and grandeur that sets it apart from other event spaces and few can rival the exceptional level of service it offers.
First and foremost, Knowsley Hall is a naturally stunning venue. We were captivated by the meticulously maintained 2,500 acres of lush greenery that surrounds this stately home, dating back to 1495. On a beautiful day, the manicured lawns and expertly crafted topiary create a picturesque slice of history. As you enter the Knowsley Estate through the huge iron gates, you might even catch a glimpse of sheep and lambs scattered throughout the grounds, not a ba(a)d place to call home.
During our visit, we loved the truly unique and vibrant team-building activities available, which work seamlessly with the centuries-old architecture and interior design. This versatility extends to Knowsley Hall's ability to tailor events to perfection, offering a wide range of bespoke experiences. From elegant gala dinners to drinks receptions, board of directors retreats and conferences, Knowsley Hall offers a wide variety of rooms and an abundance of outdoor space, truly highlighting the estate's remarkable versatility.
During our visit to Knowsley Hall, we were completely mesmerised by its breathtaking interiors, filled with an incredible collection of original artwork and treasured antiques. The venue's elegance and sophistication are further amplified by its impeccable staff, who effortlessly made us feel not just at home, but truly welcomed in one of the country's finest authentic stately homes.
The accommodation at Knowsley Hall is second to none with 5* Gold accommodation with 17 luxury bedrooms. What makes the accommodation special and something we really loved is that every bedroom has been individually designed by the Countess of Derby herself. From the distinguished elegance of "Lord Derby's Suite" to the captivating allure of the "French" room, each bedroom has its own unique personality.
The privacy offered by this venue is unmatched, providing guests with the rare privilege of complete exclusivity of the entire stately home, resulting in an extraordinary sense of escapism. Despite the secluded countryside feel of the setting, the venue itself ensures excellent accessibility with free parking and is located close to motorways, train stations, and major airports – it’s a doddle to get to. This accessibility allows guests to enjoy the best of both worlds – a serene retreat with convenient connectivity.

Anyone who knows us at DW knows we’re suckers for a spa, and Knowsley Hall absolutely exceeds expectations. Described as a hidden gem on the Knowsley Estate's website, the Chill Out Spa provides a tranquil oasis within an already blissful escape. The spa is independently owned but sits within the walled grounds of Knowsley Hall meaning it is just a stone's throw away if you want to indulge in peaceful luxury. They had numerous innovative treatments such as oxygen facials, hot stone treatments and much more, but we also loved both the indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis meaning you can be in total relaxation whatever the weather.
All the catering at Knowsley Hall is done in-house by their team of chefs who like to use locally sourced and seasonal produce and have put a great deal of care into each dish on the menu. Another snippet of information that we loved was that each dish on the menu is personally taste-tested by The Earl & Countess of Derby themselves before it can be offered to guests! We loved to see the number of Veggie, Vegan and Gluten Free options available. We will do a deep dive into a couple of the wondrous dining spaces Knowsley Hall has to offer in our Meeting Space Highlights but a section not to be missed out on is the Terrace, perfect for drinks, afternoon tea or BBQ in the sun!
Knowsley Hall also boasts the Royal Lodgings which is a private wing in the Hall that can accommodate up to 20 guests. This secluded space is ideal for intimate dining experiences after a day filled with team-building activities or exploring Knowsley Safari, which is part of the remarkable Knowsley estate. However you choose to spend your day, what sets Knowsley Hall apart is the incredible staff who go above and beyond to make your visit extra special and unforgettable. Every member of the team treated us with genuine kindness and respect. Despite the grand and regal atmosphere of the building, the staff are approachable, friendly and highly efficient, adding a warm and welcoming touch to our experience. There's also free onsite parking at Knowsley Hall
Possibly one of our favourite rooms in the Hall was the Walnut Drawing Room. Prepare to be amazed as this beautiful room, is accessed through a secret door! Step inside to discover a stunning room with the cosiest fireplace we have ever laid eyes upon, accompanied by breathtaking views of the meticulously manicured gardens and serene lake. This beautiful room is ideal for hosting relaxed meetings and delightful drinks receptions.

Knowsley Hall offers a wealth of options to make your event memorable. The second thing that’s been playing on our minds is ….. when can we go back?
