Leonardo Hotel Milton Keynes

Leonardo Hotel Milton Keynes stands out as one of the top business venues in the city. On our recent visit, we discovered not just a flexible and well-located space, but a warm, welcoming environment run by passionate event professionals who just ‘get it’.

Leonardo Milton Keynes is an excellent business hotel. You’ll find this venue a five-minute stroll away from Milton Keynes station, which can get you to London Euston station in just over half an hour. The building itself is welcoming and modern, built in 2006 and refurbished in 2015, there’s a real charm about the place.

Inside, there's 279 very spacious bedrooms, a gym, a restaurant and two bars and most importantly - 12 knockout meeting spaces. The star of the show in this venue is The Midsummer Hall, an incredible 442 sq.m, fully kitted out ballroom with a capacity of 400.

There’s a lot to love about Leonardo Milton Keynes - but what really sets it apart is the incredible team both above board and behind the scenes. Their care and attention to detail shine through in every aspect of the venue, most notably in its recent achievement of Green Tourism Silver accreditation and also Silver Award Winners in SME MK & Buckinghamshire Awards for Hospitality Business of The Year – is a clear reflection of the thoughtfulness and dedication that goes into running this hotel.

We can’t believe it, really. Leonardo Hotel is the final stop on our trip around Milton Keynes for their Destination of the Month. This month has flown by – and has been a trip we won't forget for a long time. And our last stop has us at the Leonardo and to our delight - we rounded this trip off with a real gem.

Leonardo Hotel MK caught us by surprise, while this venue isn’t the most expensive, or historic, it is brimming with charm, flexibility and most importantly a set of meeting spaces that tick literally every box for us. Throw on-top of all of that the location: 5 mins walk from Milton Keynes Station, surrounded by over 1000 public spaces (free from 6pm-7am, £2 first 2 hours, 50p an hour thereafter) and 30 mins from Luton airport - and you’ve got yourself a powerhouse venue.

We arrived on a lovely day, buzzing off this month’s mini-heatwave - and just generally happy to be checking out Milton Keynes. The entryway saw us pass the venue’s designated coach parking / drop-off spot and plenty of EV charging points. We walked in through the venue’s glass facade and into a really modern & bright lobby. The staff were extremely welcoming – we always love staff with personality, it makes a real difference. Getting to your room was a doddle too - the venue is fully DDA compliant meaning whether you’re making your way to the event floor, or to your bedroom, the hotel is easy to navigate no matter your accessibility needs.

The bedrooms here are smart and sophisticated. Perfect for corporate clients who need a base before getting down to business at your training workshop, annual board meeting or strategy session. All 279 rooms have a TV, Wi-Fi, aircon (sorted us out a charm on this warm spring day) and all the essential amenities you can dream up, like hairdryers, teas and a coffee tray. It’s also worth noting that the rooms on the higher floors of this venue have some awesome views too - the rolling Buckinghamshire hills will provide a brilliant, calming backdrop to your clients wind down after a busy day.

Traversing the venue, there’s a real sophisticated charm about the place that we really loved. Sometimes hotels might find themselves struggling to find their USP, caught in between being a business hub and a play park - Leonardo Hotel Milton Keynes has it spot on - this is a purpose-built hub for productivity - complemented by flexible meeting spaces that can do it all - talks, weddings, launches, expos - the list goes on and on and on.

This venue has a proven track record of getting it right - evidenced by its win at the 2011 Business Excellence Awards and its strong commitment to sustainability, including Silver accreditation and membership to the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The team here have decades of experience under their belts, and you can really feel it when you chat with them about what’s possible here. For event planners there’s so many solutions to cater for whatever kind of function you might need to put on.

The venue has a multitude of flexible meeting packages that are organised by expert event co-ordinators on site here at the Leonardo. The team here were especially proud of just how fast they can turnaround events after delivering a quote and we’ve been in the game long enough to know just how important that is.

Let’s talk about food first - (1) because we were peckish and (2) there’s plenty for Leonardo Milton Keynes to show off in this department. The team here told us that the quality of their catering has been instrumental to them becoming one of the most trusted business hotels to brands and agencies around the UK - and we get it. The on-site restaurant feels designed to meet the requirements of corporate guests, without ever feeling stuffy and while still packing in plenty of charm. We chowed down on items from what seemed to be a modern bar and grill menu.

The team told us however that they can operate buffet catering for groups - and we even got to have a quick chat with the fantastic catering team about their custom and bespoke event menus. What impressed us the most was the scale of operations here, the team can scale up to provide up to 320 covers at once for when the Midsummer Hall is fully booked - that’s a massive undertaking to support this incredible banquet space, and this team has a history of consistency.

A couple of extra bits. There’s also two fantastic bars at the hotel, which we didn’t have time for a drink at but spotted a wide selection of wines, spirits and beers on offer. We always love an on-site gym, especially when they’re free of charge like this one. Perfect for shaking off the post-conference slump or squeezing in a quick workout before a big day of meetings. It’s kitted out with cardio machines, resistance equipment and free weights, so there’s something for every routine.

As we mentioned before, it was a glorious spring day when we visited, so it was only right for the team here to be thinking about Christmas…! We had an excited chat about their Christmas package for 2025 - brochures freshly printed and packages newly drawn up. There’s a couple of offerings for your Christmas cheer event here; Joiner Party Nights will run from 20th November to 20th December, priced from £55 per person. Packages include a welcome drink, 3-course festive meal, DJ, and casino table, with seating from 7 PM. The other offer is Private Party Nights that start at £62 per person and include the same festive menu, plus added features like a photo booth and some other quirky bits. Overnight accommodation is also available from £95 bed and breakfast, making it easy for your guests to stay over after the event!

Leonardo Hotel Milton Keynes offers 12 fully adaptable event spaces that had such a varied selection of use-cases. From focused boardroom sessions to conferences of up to 400 delegates All of the rooms here are kitted out to the max - meaning there’ll be nothing missing on the day of your event - each room has built-in AV, high-speed Wi-Fi, and plenty of natural daylight throughout.

What we loved here was that there’s an entire event floor that houses all of the spaces at this hotel. With their flagship space, Midsummer Hall, in the centre. We’ll get into that awesome room in a second (no prizes for guessing our first highlight), but it’s worth noting that there's a spacious pre-function area outside the hall that provides the ideal setup for registration desks and exhibitor stands.

For event logistics, dedicated loading bays at the front of the hotel offer direct access for setup, deliveries, and production crews - streamlining the arrival and breakdown process for larger events.

Meeting Space Highlight: Midsummer Hall

This is a massive space, but it’s not all quantity over quality in the Midsummer Hall. This is a thoughtfully designed room, with multiple large portable screens, meaning no guest will feel left out in here. The design is very delegate friendly too, no pillars blocking the view, or hard to find exits, this is a welcoming room that’s as functional as it is massive! The room accommodates 400 theatre-style or 320 for banqueting and can be divided into four smaller rooms at your request.

Meeting Space Highlight: Suites 112 & 113 combined

Next up, we’re doubling up with Suites 112 and 113 - combined to create a super versatile mid-size space that’s a bit of a crowd-pleaser. We thought this space would be for workshops, seminars, or hybrid setups when you need tech that just works and a layout that can flex to fit the plan - whatever it may be. These rooms set the bar high for event space here - functional, flexible and fairly priced, we’re impressed Leonardo!

-----------------------------------------

Meeting Space Highlight: Suite 110

Another mid-sized space here, this time though with a bit more of an intimate feel. This room has that board meeting vibe nailed down, it’s corporate, classy and private too. The space has lots of natural light, and a real premium vibe. It comes with all the amenities you can come to expect from a meeting space as Leonardo MK, with aircon, bottled water, stationery tool kits and a selection of fruit on offer that really bring the space to life. Worth noting that this room can combine with suites 110, 111, 112 for a 200 person capacity - we loved this flexibility, there’s just so many ways to design your event here.
