Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront

Right on the seafront, step outside this venue, cross the road, and you’re on the beach. In one of Britain’s liveliest areas, this Leonardo Royal Brighton Waterfront keeps the excitement going once inside, with world class meeting spaces, and leisure facilities!

Embedded in the heart of the city, this venue gets a front row seat to all of Brighton’s biggest attractions, including the iconic Brighton Pier - not to mention other iconic attractions like Royal Pavilion, Brighton Dome (see our venue showcase on this amazing spot) and the i360 viewing platform nearby.

The hotel’s sea view rooms across its 210 bedrooms offer incredible views of the waterfront, with the hotel also offering a plethora of other wonderful suites including their stunning penthouse and accessible rooms. The venue is connected to the Lanes Car Park meaning that it’s easily accessible by car. Know what else is easily accessible by car, from this venue? London! Less than an hour away, the capital too is in arms reach when staying at this brilliant venue.

On arrival, the Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront has a striking appearance, with huge glass pane windows reflecting the natural light off of the sea. The large hotel, with bedrooms in the double century, stands stoically on the waterfront with plenty in store behind its doors. The Leonardo Brighton also has a rearward entrance, useful when setting up events, and also for direct access onto the iconic lanes of Brighton.

Once inside however, it’s time to behold the venue’s real beauty, the hotel’s interior is stunningly unique. The lobby itself is a huge atrium, styled after a cruise liner with sheer walls that ascend to the ceiling and massive sky window four or five stories above. This is a surefire way to blow delegates away as they enter the venue, we were properly stunned by this vast space that was so open, welcoming and fresh!

Speaking of welcoming, so were the staff, who throughout our stay made us feel comfortable and were never too far from reach when we had questions about anything to do with this hotel. The team were especially apt at suggestions for nearby teambuilding activities, with their huge list going beyond the cast iron favourites of tourists in Brighton and bringing up some of the cities coolest hidden gems, like The Ridgeview Wine Estate, Stanmer Park, Devils Dyke or South Downs!

Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront has 210 spacious bedrooms, each with free Wi-Fi, an en-suite bathroom with white company toileteries, flat-screen TV , Nespresso coffee machine, fridge, complimentary water and air-conditioning - some with sea-view rooms of the famous Brighton Waterfront & Pier. There are also suites, with a luxurious Super King bed. Guests can also enjoy complimentary access to the hotel’s leisure club throughout their stay.

First thing’s first, we have to talk about the incredible spa and leisure facilities here at this Leonardo hotel. We think many places may have just rested on the laurels of this hotel being strides away from the beach, but not this one. Leonardo Royal Brighton Waterfront has seriously stunning leisure facilities. There’s a large pool with indoor loungers and a sleek, simple design that feels modern and refreshing. Just off the pool are the Sauna and Steam Rooms, two brilliant facilities that we’re always excited to see in any venue. A perfect way for guests staying the night before or after an event to wind down and be at ease! Aside from the pool, and spa capabilities, there’s also the gym here which is way beyond a little store cupboard with some dumbbells! This modern space with custom LED “stronger than you know” signage feels super exciting to get a workout done in, it’s fully stocked with high end equipment and while not event-essential, we felt, this was a touch that exemplified the quality that runs throughout the hotel.

The Food here is fantastic and the catering capabilities were seriously impressive. The Leo’s bar and lounge has a statement high glass ceiling with glass detailing. When evening time rolls around, this is a candlelit space that feels spacious and modern. Off to the side of the dining area there’s incredible sea views of the pier and beyond.

There’s a couple of bar and lounge areas in this hotel that we could’ve spent all day long in. Leo’s bar is just… so cool. A massively relaxing vibe greets you when entering this great little space at the rear of the lobby. We had a cheeky drink on both nights of our stay and loved it - what a chilled out place to, well, chill out! The Promenade Lounge area of the hotel was one that we really loved, it’s truly lovely - the space overlooks the sea on a raised area above the huge lobby, looking out gives you that cruise-ship feeling… nothing but blue, hopefully that includes the sky too!

A really unique touch to this Leonardo Royal hotel is the Ellaboos Beauty Salon - Located within the hotel, this is a space that prides itself on being a unique and quirky salon with a vibrant environment where you can come to have a good chatter over a lovely manicure or simply unwind with a relaxing massage. What a cool idea! We thought this is a great touch that event-goers could even take advantage of before a large day of meetings, hosting, or anything where you might want to be looking your best.

There are 8 meeting spaces here and they’re all fantastic, they offer a real range of capabilities. Across the meeting rooms, all eight come with air conditioning, an LCD Projector/screen and free Wi-Fi, these high quality essentials match the super high standard of quality that Leonardo set in their bedrooms - with every one being equipped with a Nespresso machine, White Company toiletries and a fridge as a standard.

There are two larger spaces the Renaissance and the Nobelesse which we will get to in the highlights, as well as six smaller rooms that are better suited to interviews, training and board meetings. All six of these rooms are located on the first floor and accessible via the Library Terrace space.

MEETING SPACE HIGHLIGHT : Renaissance Suite
Wow. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this room! It’s vast, yet not overwhelming, in that perfect goldilocks zone for a large event space. The whole room is self-contained and even has its own entrance as you walk down the designated staircase to this meeting area. This is properly perfect for dinners, awards and large conferences. A genuine standout that feels impressive every way you look at it. The suite is on the lower ground floor which means that past the entrance to it, there’s a large area designated for registration! We also found it impressive that despite this room being on the lower ground level, there’s still fantastic, free Wi-Fi connectivity thanks to the venue.

MEETING SPACE HIGHLIGHT : Noblesse Room
At the back of the hotel, this space is another not to be missed. One thing we loved about this area was its closeness in location to the Leo’s bar. The transition from the room to the bar feels super natural which means you can take that post conference chatter on for as long as you want - and this is a fantastic space for just that, small to medium sized conferences would thrive in this room that feels like a quiet oasis from the bustle and culture of the waterfront.

MEETING SPACE HIGHLIGHT 3: Tennyson Room

This room shows off the Leonardo Royal Brighton Waterfront’s most impressive aspect, as we’ve already mentioned maybe a million times… the views. We just can’t get enough of them and this meeting space is a large board room style area that shows off these sights with near floor to ceiling bay windows. A really impressive place to get down to business. The Large LCD projector and screen at one end of the room mean you and the team have something to focus on, even when it’s so darn beautiful outside!

This was a hotel to remember, we’ve viewed venues of all shapes and sizes in our showcases, and what feels special about this one is it has a sprinkle of everything, in the heart of one of the country’s most recognisable cities, brilliant meeting rooms, wonderful leisure facilities, and a designated team of event staff who were always there to help… we had an amazing stay, one that we can honestly say we look forward to returning to!
