The events setup at this luxury venue is second to none, we often talk about the importance of a dedicated events team, and the team here at Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa are beyond dedicated. During our visit, we could tell this is a team who want to take every meticulous detail of your next event and bring it to life. There’s so much room at Powerscourt, with over 1,100 square meters of events space, and rooms for up to 600 attendees across 10 spaces, the team here are dead set on making sure not a moment or an inch is wasted at your event - we just loved this passion.

Aside from all of that serious eventing, the Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa is also an amazing venue for delegates, teams, or even event planners (after the hard work is done!) to kick back and relax, the leisure options here are unbelievable, with two championship golf courses as the main event, along with a spa that’s been awarded many times over as absolutely world class - that being said, just about everything at this luxurious landmark is.

With the estate dating back to the thirteenth century, it took over seven hundred years for there to be a hotel added to this amazing green valley - but wow, was it worth the wait (not that we were around all that time!). In 2007 this venue was built for over £200m in a huge development project that saw designers bring this crescent shaped Neo-Palladian style masterpiece to life. We’re lucky enough to travel the world and witness some of the most impressive event spaces inside and out, but as a structure, this one may just take the cake.

The sheer size and seamless regal feel of the building will leave an impression on delegates that they’ll never forget about - at The Delegate Wranglers we can testify to that already - we want to go back!

Don’t just take our word for it either, this five star luxury hotel has won its fair share of big awards in the industry over the last decade for its superiority in style and service! In 2015 the venue won the Best Golf Hotel Worldwide at the Hotel of the Year awards, and only a year later it won the AA Hotel of the Year. Then in 2018 it won the Best Luxury Spa in Northern Europe and the year after was named Ireland’s leading Luxury Hotel at the Global Luxury Hotel and Spa awards, as well as the Condé Nast Readers Choice Top 20 Resorts in Europe in 2024.

You get the point - this place is… luxurious. And that’s to say the least, that luxury feel runs through the decor and design, but also through the catering menus, staff attitudes and level of equipment within the events spaces themselves!

Whether your bedroom is on the ground floor with huge floor to ceiling window panes, or high up with views that scrape the treetops, the views of lush greenery and stunning mountain setting are unparalleled.

The rooms are decorated with a classical feel that feels charming and quirky, without feeling old or outdated. When a hotel sets such a high standard for themselves in the restaurants, bars, meeting spaces and more, it can be hard to translate that into private spaces that will continue to wow delegates after the event is over - but Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa have nailed it here.

Despite the decedent and traditional stylings, the venue is thinking about the future with its fantastic sustainability efforts. When we chatted with the team, they told us about initiatives like local produce menus, their head, water and electricity energy saving methods, and our personal favourite, on site bee hives in the hotel’s gardens!

As we’ve already emphasised, the Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa does everything to the nth degree, with perfectionism around every corner, and that extends to the three amazing dining experiences on offer here.

The Sika Fine Dining restaurant combines traditional Irish contemporary cuisine with a modern twist. The room features views of Wicklow's hills and the Sugar Loaf Mountain from the third level of this amazing hotel. The dining experience here is premium, premium and some more premium, with it previously holding 2 AA Rosettes.

Next up for the amazing catering capabilities here is the Sugar Loaf Lounge, located on the hotel's lobby level, this more chilled out space focuses on a more relaxed experience, offering Afternoon Tea, and evening cocktails. This room also features some stunning views to match the amazing bites and drinks!

Lastly, but not least is the Sally Gap Bar and Brasserie. Wow this combines the best of both of the previous restaurants all inside a more contemporarily designed room. The menu is crafted by Executive Chef Cormac McCreary, and once again features fresh, locally sourced ingredients like honey from onsite beehives and whiskey from Powerscourt Distillery! This is an amazing spot that stands shoulder to shoulder with some of the best restaurants in the country!

Next up…we have to talk about the leisure facilities, there’s so many amazing possibilities here, we could be listing them all day but to give you a whistle stop tour, sport and fitness wise there’s a fully stocked gym, plenty of fitness classes available for guests, and two brilliant 72 par golf courses.

If wellness is more your speed, then look no further than the award winning spa here at Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa. Wow, our tour of this gorgeous, serene spa had our jaws dropped. There are 20 treatment rooms as well as a pool at this ESPA facility. The jewel in the crown, quite literally, is the 20m Swarovski crystal-lit pool that sits next to the Sauna, steam room and Hammam suite. Do your guests want luxury? This has loads of it.

Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa’s location means that it’s got absolutely tonnes of gorgeous outdoor space to incorporate - and the team here have put it to great use when it comes to events. The Amphitheatre is the product of a €250,000 investment in 2018 and goes a long way to take this venue to the next level. With a keen eye on team building and events, The outdoor space is fully future proofed with high speed 100mb broadband, state-of-the-art sound system and 3 phase power supply, making it fit for purpose for any outdoor event. Measuring 1600 sq. metres, tiered seating for 240 guests, this space also has direct car access and fully can be fully catered for! When we saw this space what we thought of first were quirky product launches, talks, concerts, or even an outdoor cinema space!

It goes without saying that the team building opportunities in the amphitheatre are boundless, and you can dream even bigger when thinking about the entire grounds of the estate! Archery, Axe throwing, Tugs of war, Treasure hunts are all on offer, as well as calmer more grounded options like Paint and prosecco, or maybe setting up for some yoga on the greens!

The meeting spaces themselves are all focussed around the Business Centre which means that you can combine use of multiple rooms next door to one another as breakout spaces! There’s also a dedicated concierge desk in the lobby for the event manager - maybe that's you reading - to be based on all day and answer any questions delegates may have, we’ve been there. There’s also a dedicated loading in and out space so you can bring everything that makes your event yours in without disruption. Anyway, let's get to the highlights, shall we?

Wow. This massive space is an absolute masterpiece when it comes to galas and dinners. Everything about this room screams high end, the high ceilings with ornate patterning, golden touches all over that never feel too much, and massive capacity for up to 500 PAX so you can create a memorable dinner, awards night or so much more for your delegates!

Probably the most modern feeling of all the rooms on offer feel, that doesn’t mean the Douglas Suite has an inch less character than any of the other spaces, gorgeous floor to ceiling arch windows compliment tasteful pattern wallpaper and gorgeous golden light fixtures to create a space rife with opportunities in a classroom layout!

Darker, with leather seating, spruce table and some amazing woodwork detailing on the walls, this room inspires focus and productivity, it’s the perfect choice for board meetings, smaller team planning sessions, or even interviews. This is a classy space that exemplifies the luxuriousness of the whole hotel.

Summary
It’s not hard to tell from out glowing report that we were completely blown away by Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa during our visit, the flexibility of over 1,100 square meters of event space means you can host anything from intimate gatherings to huge conferences, and we loved just how much effort and investment is focussed on the events side of the hotel, it’s a total priority for the team here.
