Swinton Park

Swinton Park is perfect for a multitude of events - small/mid-sized conferences, board meetings, company away days, brain storming, incentives, team building, product launches, dinner receptions, and much more. On this trip I was lucky to take part in the cookery school and the farm adventure team building activities – both of which were fantastic experiences. Highly recommended venue.

To put it quite simply - this venue is stunning. It has to be experienced to fully appreciate the almost endless activities they have to offer. Coupled with super friendly staff, luxurious bedrooms, fantastic food and you're onto a winner.

A truly glorious and historic Yorkshire hotel with endless activities

First impression: Wow! What an entrance. Arriving by road, the Swinton Estate just creeps up on you as you come to a little give way in the road and all of a sudden the Swinton Park Castle is right there in front of you. Such an impressive venue - a real wow factor!

Parking: You drive through an archway and follow the road past fields of grazing deer until you reach the covered entrance to the hotel, where you are warmly met and politely ushered into the hotel with your luggage, before a member of the hotel team takes your car keys and parks your car for you. Brilliant service!

Lobby: The Swinton Park lobby is a lovely, but fairly compact space although this isn't a problem as directly behind you is a door leading to various gorgeous rooms with roaring fires and plenty of comfortable couches to relax on. Its only once you're inside the castle (its construction dates back to the 17th century) that you realise how impressive the building is.

If you were using the Swinton Park for an event, then I would recommend that a registration desk be set up in one of the rooms next to the reception. It would be the perfect place to greet delegates on arrival as they were very impressive. There was masses of space in these rooms so a large registration desk wouldn't be a problem

Bedrooms: Each of the 32 bedrooms have a name, rather than a number, and they were all HUGE. More like suites than bedrooms. The room I stayed in had a huge bathroom complete with separate rain forest style shower and a free standing bath. The bedroom itself was twice the size of many corporate hotels.

Wi-fi: The wi-fi signal was fairly decent for me although I was advised by the hotel that it could fluctuate due to the thickness of the walls, which in a building of this age is to be expected. Although as mentioned, I personally didn’t experience any problems at all during my stay.

STAFF

Reception staff: On checking in, the receptionist could not have been more courteous - escorting all guests to their rooms is a really nice touch. Lots of information was given about the breakfast times, wi-fi details, etc - it was faultless.
