There’s space for up to 350 guests for your event - with rooms that make putting on an event of any kind a walk in the park - maybe even specifically Hyde park - which is just a short stroll down the road!

The team at The Cumberland know how to mix work with play - offering amazing, in house team building opportunities. The theming around the hotel, particularly in the SOUND area harks back to rock and roll legends of the past, Jimi Hendrix, The Killers, Madonna, and Lady Gaga have all stayed at The Cumberland - and that’s just to name a few.

As soon as you enter The Cumberland, you quickly realise this is a quirky, exciting venue with something new to offer to organisers and delegates alike - without ever feeling gimmicky.

The lobby here is absolutely massive and has some really cool touches that instantly reach out to engage guests and as event organisers - straight away we were thinking about how excited we’d be if we were hosting an event here - with just how much they care about the guest experience. Every guest gets treated like a rockstar - and that’s down to the fantastically helpful staff here!

Our room was gorgeous - well designed - and super spacious. The plethora of bedrooms at this venue boast tonnes of impressive quirks, such as walk-in showers and wardrobes - as well as bathtubs, record players and even fender guitars! We were in love with how well thought out every nook and cranny of this hotel was, there’s no blank rooms or undecorated spaces - everything feels stylish and together in a really impressive way!

Speaking of winding down in the room - if you want to get the blood pumping - without any rock-and-roll, then The Cumberland has a gym fully stocked with Technogym machines that cover everything you, or your event-goers would need to get an excellent workout in!

We’ve already mentioned the brilliant location - but to reiterate, this hotel is literally on top of Marble Arch Station which will get you to just about anywhere in London and beyond - and fast. You’re also only 40 minutes from Heathrow here with a direct train from Bond Street, less than five minutes from the front door of this hotel. We’re thinking when the hotel talks about being well connected - they’re not just talking about their contact book of celebrity guests.

The centrepiece of this hotel is the fantastic SOUND space. This area offers three experiences in one, a cocktail bar, a restaurant, and a sports bar/lounge - all tied together with that rock and roll style that features throughout the hotel!

SOUND Cafe is the place to find modern American inspired dishes, that will be accompanied by Live music every night of the week - practice what you preach!

Next up is SOUND Sports Bar which provided a perfect spot for us (and we’re sure delegates alike) to wind down at the end of a hectic day, with nine huge 4k screens playing what seems like every sports game going on in the world at any given moment! There’s a real American charm about this place that makes the entire space feel hearty and homely.

Lastly is the award-winning SOUND Bar where the most impressive cocktails we’ve had in a long time are mixed to perfection by the brilliant mixologists. The same mixologists also give amazing masterclasses as part of the brilliant team building offerings at The Cumberland Hotel.

To accompany the on-site team building activities, why not take a look at the amazing surrounding opportunities for days out - while basing at The Cumberland. The London Eye, Frameless immersive gallery, Shakespeare's globe and even St Paul’s cathedral all are just across the way from this amazing hotel and can provide brilliant opportunities to wow guests, particularly if it’s a first time visit to London or international conference!

Something that really impressed us was that all of these facilities were powered by an amazingly ethical and thoughtful set of sustainability practices that really show this venue’s desire to go above and beyond the competition in this sector. Greengage 2024 Ecosmart Gold Accredited, this venue has some brilliant initiatives like their partnership with DripDrop, which allows them to plant a tree in Mozambique for every rented umbrella in the hotel. Currently this has seen the hotel plant over 11,000 trees so far! Another feature we loved was the venue’s total eradication of single use plastics on premises, with even the room keycards now being made from FSC, REACH and BSI certified wood! It’s obvious the team at The Cumberland might just love sustainability as much as they do rock and roll and believe us when we say - that’s saying something!

As we previously mentioned, this venue has 17 fantastic spaces that offer capacity ranging from 6 to 350. The venue’s biggest and most impressive space - the Arena, is set for an exciting refresh in 2025, which we can’t wait to go back and check out. The brilliantly friendly team here are seriously experienced event-profs who really care about making every event as smooth sailing as possible for organisers and delegates alike! We’re gutted we could only pick three spaces from the really impressive plethora of rooms here, but the rules are the rules - so here are our three favourite spaces at The Cumberland.

MEETING SPACE HIGHLIGHT: The Arena
As we say, the arena is soon to be refreshed in some top-secret, exciting ways. But the space we visited was brilliant in its own right. The current space is set with some brilliant multicoloured ambient, embedded wall lighting and a really funky wave-shaped ceiling. The room is smart, professional, with that little psychedelic edge that sets it apart as a cool, medium to large sized event space that’s anything but bland. This space also has a dedicated desk outside for registration.

MEETING SPACE HIGHLIGHT: Remix

As funky as the name suggests, the centrepiece of the Remix room is an amazing tile mural on the far wall that brings colour and flavour to this impressive, minimally designed space. There are screens in all corners of this room meaning training videos or online conferences can be staged here effortlessly! There’s also a number of different seating options available in this space - not just layouts - guests will be able to choose between casual relaxed desk seats, comfy leather backed chairs, or even stools around quirky high tables!

MEETING SPACE HIGHLIGHT : Backstage Lounge

The ultimate VIP experience - if you’re looking for a more laid-back, themed feel to your event - this is the room. Located on the ground floor this space feels intimate and private - just as the biggest stars in the world would like it, and in this space - you’ll feel like one. Golden accents, mirrored ceilings and amazing draped curtains that close sections of the space off for breakout zones, make this space feel super-premium and as exciting as it sounds.
