Before we even stepped foot in the hotel’s grounds, we knew we were in for something special here. Gleneagles is no ordinary 5-star hotel; indeed, it is an iconic venue that has hosted some of the most prestigious events in the world. This stunning estate offers a whole array of outdoor activities, while the bedrooms, spa and meeting rooms were truly incredible. Simply put, this is a world class venue and one of the best we have ever been to.

Located in the heart of Scotland, this prestigious 5-star hotel has been welcoming guests for nearly a century now. Gorgeous boutique styled bedrooms, stunning pools, and spa area, as well as some of the finest dining to be had in Scotland, Gleneagles is analogous to a fine wine in as much that it only seems to improve with age. Set amidst 850 acres, it offers an extensive range of outdoor activities and pursuits for its guests to enjoy and is the epitome of a glorious playground. Indeed, with three championship golf courses, tennis centre, two off-road driving courses, equestrian, shooting, falconry and gundog schools, archery, and a fleet of bicycles all for hire you certainly won’t be short of something to do!

And far as meeting spaces go, well, aren’t you are in for a treat! Having been the go-to destination for any number of prestigious events over the years including a G8 summit and Ryder Cup, Gleneagles knows how to make your time here completely unforgettable. Getting here is easy too by whichever way you come. As despite being surrounded by the rugged natural beauty that Scotland is renowned for, Edinburgh airport is less than hour away and Gleneagles it even has its own train station – 2 minutes drive from the hotel! So, no need to fret, as it’s a lot closer than you may think.

Yet despite all of this, one of the standout features that we appreciated the most during our time here were the friendly staff that were extremely welcoming right from the offset. With world-class service, stunning meeting spaces and bedrooms, along with Michelin starred dining and a whole myriad of activities to try you will certainly feel like a veritable Scottish laird during your time here. Wow!

RESTAURANTS & BARS
Dining at Gleneagles is a complete indulgence. With 9 superb restaurants and bars to choose from, it offers some truly unforgettable fine dining experiences including a two Michelin starred restaurant – the Andrew Fairlie. This intimate 40 cover restaurant combines the very best of Scottish and French cooking and will absolutely blow you away with its world class dishes including the Chef’s favourite, the five-hour smoked lobster.

For classical fine dining and silver service there is the Strathearn restaurant. With elegance and grandeur throughout, dining in this glamourous place does not simply consist of eating a meal but rather it is an entire experience in itself. Silver cloches, butler trays and traditional Gueridon service evokes all the charm and allure of a bygone age and is certain to live on long in your memory.

Your choice is not limited to silver service however, as there is also The Birnam Brasserie. With its beautiful mosaic tiled floor, this place is a fabulous fusion of an Italian trattoria and a French bistro. Serving up mouth-watering cuisine itis perfect for a lazy brunch with friends.

Now if you’re looking for a drink in a truly special place, then the American Bar is just for you. Exquisitely styled, it epitomises all the opulence and glamour of the roaring 20’s and is a superb place to enjoy a drink or two. However, in order to fully embrace the elegance of this venue, we recommend that you dress up accordingly and sample something from their caviar selection over a glass of champagne.

Bedrooms:
The bedrooms here are just incredible. With 5-star luxury amenities and being individually styled, they have a boutique feel to them. Yet despite all the first-class features that you would expect from a legendary venue like Gleneagles, it is as they put it, ‘the wee things that make the big difference”. By bringing together locally sourced Scottish textiles, tastefully selected antiques, and paintings along with their delicious tuck boxes full of treats, they have managed to elevate a luxury bedroom for a night into something much more. The bathrooms are a real indulgent treat too.

Fitness gym:
For all those of you that cannot go a day without a workout, you need not worry as there is a brand-new gym that comes with a huge range of both aerobic and muscle strengthening equipment by Technogym. Super impressive and well worth a visit.

Spa & Swimming Pool:
There are two stunning indoor pools here, one of which is an18.5 metre adults only pool, while there is also a thermal suite, as well as both indoor and outdoor hot tubs and a heated outdoor pool.

If this is not relaxing enough for you, then you can always head on down to the hotel’s Luxury Spa Resort (the only spa in Scotland to be awarded this title). Using ESPA treatments, you can select from an extensive range of both traditional and alternative therapies that are sure to de-stress and rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. Trust us, this place is not to be missed!

MEETING / CONFERENCE ROOMS
Over the years, Gleneagles has hosted some of the most prestigious events in the world and with the calibre of meeting spaces available here, it is not difficult to see why. Each and every room is exquisite, with a finesse that is unsurpassed. From the glorious Edwardian era styled Ballroom to the huge Arena, there is something for any type of event.

While we have chosen five rooms to highlight below, there is one space in particular that we must mention and that is The Shooting Lodge. Just a short walk from the main building in the hotel’s grounds it makes an ideal hub for country pursuits and is the perfect choice for lunches or BBQ’s for up to 200 people or for 60 people when seated. So, if you were planning on a spot of fly fishing from one of the hotel’s lakes or rivers, or clay pigeon shooting in and amongst the huge grounds, then The Shooting Lodge would make an incredible retreat afterwards.

MEETING ROOM HIGHLIGHTS:

The Ballroom
This beautifully grand room with its mirrored walls, ornate ceiling, graceful pillars, and elegant chandeliers is the type of place that is certain to impress even the most discerning delegate. And while you would be forgiven for thinking that such a glorious room would lack the features found in more modern venues, you would be wrong, as hidden under this original Edwardian exterior, is a full lighting rig with built-in projection and sound. Couple all of this with a full stage and seating for up to 260 people in theatre style it would be a fabulous choice for conferences or dinners.

Glendevon
The Glendevon is a tastefully elegant semi-circular room with masses of natural light thanks to the many bay windows that offer lovely panoramic views of the hotel’s landscaped lawns. The relaxed vibe that this space has is innate to it and we can easily see why it was chosen as a location for a G8 summit back in 2005. And as it opens up onto the outside terrace, it offers extra flexibility should you wish to add a falconry experience onto your event. So, whether it’s a cocktail reception or afternoon tea that you are planning, then look no further.

The Henry Hall
Situated right in the heart of the hotel, this room is a superb space and offers great flexibility due to two moveable partition walls that allow it to be split into two or even three areas. What’s even better is that right from the start The Henry Hall was built to host conferences or large meetings for up to 300 people. Consequently, it has state of the art AV and due to having two entrance foyers, checking delegates in couldn’t be any easier.

Ochil House
Ochil House is the name of the new wing that comprises of six superb rooms, including the elegant Drawing Room and the opulent Broadcasting Room. Able to be booked separately or all together, they assume an intoxicating blend of a private-members club and a luxury country house retreat that would be equally at home in hosting events for either business or pleasure. A fantastic addition that has so much flexibility!

The Gleneagles Arena
Just a short walk from the main hotel is the Gleneagles Arena. This huge state-of-the-art facility has everything you need to host an incredible event for up to 2,250 people. With its own loading bay access doors and capacity to display up to 20 vehicles at a time, it is perfect for car launches. It does, however, remain a blank canvas allowing you to do with it whatever you wish with ease. A fab place for any large event.
