Whether it’s a conference, social event or wedding, they have a true history of hospitality and focus on sustainability

BMA House, home to the British Medical Association since 1925, is a beautifully bright and spacious Grade II listed building designed in 1911 by famed architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. The magnificent venue boasts 22 unique and versatile spaces including 11 purpose built meeting rooms, all fitted with cutting edge AV technology.

From small meeting rooms to full conferencing spaces for up to 320, it is a favourite for Conferences, Meetings, AGMs, Charity Dinners, Award Ceremonies, Product Launches and Exhibitions.

This central London venue boasts two magnificent outdoor spaces; the Courtyard and Garden, a rare asset within a city. A fantastic option for delegates to unwind outside in the fresh air during breaks, and can be hired in the evening and weekends for private events, drinks receptions and weddings.

BMA House are incredibly passionate about their food. Healthy meetings being their ethos with delegates’ wellbeing at the forefront of all menus, their talented chefs have created mindfully nutritious menus which focus on sustaining concentration and nourishing delegates with wholesome food. They are also fully stocked on ideas for any event or individual requiring vegan or vegetarian dishes.

BMA House places sustainability at the heart of everything we do, which has won them a Gold award in Green Tourism in 2017, just one of a few venues in London. Other sustainability awards include Platinum level ECOsmart with Greengage (they were just one of two venues to go straight to this level!), ‘Greenest Venue’ by Hire Space in 2018, ‘Most Sustainable Venue’ by the London Summer Event Show in 2019, and most recently a Silver award for ‘Best CSR or Sustainability Initiative’ at the London Venues Awards. We now place ourselves up with the capital’s finest green venues!

BMA House’s superb location means that it is excellent for national and international conferences. Located in the heart of Bloomsbury the venue is accessible within walking distance from mainline stations including Euston, Kings Cross and Russell Square tube.

We couldn’t have wished for a better time

“We wanted to thank you for an amazing day. We had a lovely time and all our guests commented on how wonderful the venue, the food and the staff were.

You really looked after us on the day and for that we are very grateful! Thank you for making sure we ate too!

We had a fantastic day

“We had an incredible time. From start to finish, it was perfect. Our thanks to you and the BMA staff for creating such a lovely atmosphere. The two rooms looked fantastic, the food was delicious and even the weather held up for us! The feedback from our guests has been overwhelming.” “After a small family wedding in August 2020 we were thrilled to be returning to BMA House for a bigger celebration, as we had originally planned, in July 2021. We invited 120 guests to our ceremony and wedding breakfast which took place in the Paget Room, with an additional 20 guests arriving in the evening for drinks and dancing in the Snow Room next door. The weather held just long enough for us to have our drinks reception in the beautiful courtyard and we were also able to take some photos with our families in the garden. BMA House is stunning - from the building itself to the courtyard to the rooms, it is everything you could want from a central London venue. The rooms and the courtyard all looked beautiful and we have had tons of compliments from our guests about how lovely it was. Having Victoria and the events team to help us plan was a huge advantage and made everything much more straightforward. Their organisation and communication was fantastic, especially Victoria, both in the build up and on the day itself. Overall our wedding was perfect - delicious food and drink and lots of fun, in a beautiful and sophisticated setting, with staff who really worked hard to plan the perfect day for us and make sure we could enjoy it to the full. We had a fantastic day - thank you so much for making it all happen and giving us not one but two special days of celebration!”

“Thank you so so so much for everything on Friday and leading up to it! We had the best day of our lives and you were just so brilliant! Thank you to you and all the wonderful team at BMA House.

We are very much still buzzing from it! If we had hired you privately, there’s no way we could have afforded you”

A perfect space for our event

“Our event went very well yesterday and the service we received throughout the project from you and your team was excellent. The Great Hall was a perfect space for us and looked really special on the day. The food was really good and we received a lot of positive comments about the lunch.

Please could you pass on our thanks to the whole team, and particularly to the AV team who were super helpful throughout the day, particularly when we had to deal with some last-minute tech issues of our own making.”

A truly sustainable venue

“The Event Industry News team work with BMA House on many editorial features and marketing pieces but the Sustainable Breakfast Briefing was our first experience at hosting an event with the venue, and it did not disappoint. Our event focussed on sustainability and BMA House certainly works hard to get their green credentials and rightly so. From the offset the BMA House events team worked with us to produce the most sustainable event we could, from the online registration process to a plant-based breakfast and we managed to produce a zero carbon event – it was a great success.

I’d highly recommend working with BMA House, it’s a stunning venue, in a brilliant location and their focus on sustainability is second to none. Hopefully we’ll be back next year.”

Delicious food & drink

“Hannah was amazing from start to finish in organising our summer party, everything was amazing. The Gin Magician wowed everyone and was a fun person to have serving us all. All food and drink was amazing. DJ played amazing music and really ended our event on a high.”

Stunning summer party venue

“I just wanted to send you a quick email to say a massive thank you to your events team for facilitating a great summer party for our company. A particular mention must go out to Victoria Lewis who was our contact at BMA House for the event.

Victoria was diligent, flexible and incredibly accommodating of our needs. No request was too much and she remained attentive and helpful throughout the night.

Our guests loved the space, the food was great and the bar staff were always on hand to top up those empty glasses! A really successful night all round and that is largely due to the hard work and dedication of Victoria and the team.

We will have no hesitation in recommending BMA House as a preferred venue of choice throughout our networks so please do not be surprised if you start receiving calls for future bookings!”

Impressive London venue

“I would just like to say again how impressed I was with the level of customer service at BMA House. Everyone from the security guard to the tech crew and catering team, front of house and back, was absolutely at the top of their game – friendly, knowledgeable and for whom nothing was too much trouble.

It is a shame that such customer service should be noteworthy rather than the norm – but such is the world. I can only put it down to your effective leadership and development of a client-focussed workplace culture.”

FAQs answered by BMA House

BMA House is peppered with historical features, which two can be found in our two outdoor areas?
The beautiful, wrought iron Gates of Remembrance, dedicated in 1925 by the Arch Bishop of Canterbury, are the entrance to our Courtyard; and our tranquil Garden is the site of Charles Dickens’ home from the 1850s, and some of the original bricks can still be found here.
We honour our history by naming the majority of our rooms after what?
Famous doctors, who have each greatly contributed to the advancement of medicine.
Can you cater for wedding ceremonies?
We have four unique spaces where couples can say 'I do'. For large ceremonies of up to 200 guests we have the Great Hall, and for more intimate gatherings of up to 60, the Prince’s room is the perfect fit. The Paget room can comfortably host up to 150 and its neighbour the Snow room, up to 100.
How many event spaces does our venue hold?
22. Including our two gorgeous outdoor area, both of which can be hired for weekend and evening events.
What measures have you put in place to reduce food waste at events?
We ask that final numbers are confirmed before the event to allow us to make adjustments to production. We’ve also reduced the buffet choices from three to two options while any food and coffee waste is collected by Paper Round and used for energy production.
