PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in delivering high-profile, high-value events that embody the Make Events brand and values.

Managing the full end-to-end event lifecycle, this role combines strategic thinking, creative leadership, and operational excellence to ensure client objectives are met and exceeded. Acting as the primary point of contact for key clients, the Senior Project Manager oversees complex project delivery, budget performance, and supplier partnerships, while driving long-term account growth.

Alongside delivery, this role is central to developing people and performance — leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of Producers to consistently deliver exceptional experiences and the ultimate client outcome.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Team Management: Lead and develop direct reports through the full employee lifecycle, conducting regular performance reviews and providing mentorship to ensure team-wide growth and delivery excellence.
• Production: Provide top-line oversight and end-to-end management of complex projects, including on-site execution, show calling, and ensuring exceptional delivery standards from brief to evaluation.
• Logistics: Take full ownership of event logistics and technical requirements, managing external suppliers and AV production to ensure a seamless experience in line with company quality expectations.
• Client Management and Account Development: Serve as the primary client contact to build long-term relationships, driving account growth and ROI by developing strategically aligned proposals based on deep industry and competitor insights.
• Creative: Lead the development of impactful, on-brand event proposals that are strategically aligned with the client’s specific needs and objectives.
• Budget Management: Take full responsibility for the financial performance and commercial success of events by managing accurate budgets, protecting margins, and leading post-event evaluations to drive continuous improvement.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Event Producer, ideally within an agency environment.
• Proven ability to lead end-to-end event delivery for high-profile, complex events.
• Strong team leadership and mentoring skills.
• Experienced in budget management (£70k–£400k+) and maintaining project profitability.
• Confident client lead, with excellent relationship-building and account growth experience.
• Skilled in creating and presenting event proposals and pitches.
• Solid knowledge of AV production and technical requirements.
• Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experienced in managing external suppliers and show logistics.
• Comfortable with post-event analysis, ROI reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Up to date with industry trends and event innovations.
