15Hatfields’ general manager, Warren Campbell, has secured a place in micebook’s Power 50: Green Champions.
He joins an
elite group of business meetings and events industry professionals who have
been recognised for devoting their time, passion and energy to making a
positive impact on the planet.
Back in 2008
he spearheaded the inception of 15Hatfields with support from the Chartered Institute of Environmental
Health and under his helm it has successfully evolved into central London’s
leading sustainable venue.
With
an infectious and genuine passion for sustainability, Warren champions best
practice not just at the venue, but in the wider industry. Never one to be
content with the status quo, he regularly provides guidance and thought
leadership to the sector while encouraging transparency and evidence of any
environmental claims.
In
addition to a long list of enviable sustainable credentials and achievements as
well as a fantastic 60% repeat client base, the last three years have seen
Warren pioneer and lead a mission to become the UK’s first venue to be entirely
palm oil free as part of the Southbank venue’s commitments to the UN
Sustainable Development Goals.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to have been awarded a place on the Power 50: Green Champions list – particularly as it is the first initiative of its kind to shine a spotlight on those who are really determined to make a difference and ensure that sustainability is at the forefront of event planning and execution. It is a huge honour not only for me but for my entire team who are equally passionate to innovate and support by identifying and implementing new approaches, as well as embracing technological advances to reduce the venue’s environmental impact.”

While this initiative temporarily hit the buffers last year due to labelling changes by the UK Food Standards Agency caused by the conflict in Ukraine, he remained determined to push the boundaries. In April 2023 the venue hosted its first 100% palm oil free event, which was created for Convenzis Education for their annual National MAT Awards 2023.
To encourage others to follow suit, he has led an initiative to transparently share the venue’s work to eradicate palm oil from the venue as well as its other extensive efforts to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals via 15Hatfields’ newly launched sustainability hub.
The Power 50 were revealed at a special event held on 10 October at the Barbican, which brought together industry professionals, thought leaders and selected Green Champions for an afternoon of inspiration, education and celebration.
Warren has also been shortlisted alongside two other individuals for a HOSPA Inspirational Sustainability Leader of the Year Award taking place on 16 November at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.
