Event profs of Dublin - we speak to Naomi Moore of Windmill Lane Recording Studios

To celebrate Dublin as our Destination of the Month, we caught up with a few Dublin people to find out more about the services they offer for event professionals - this time we spoke to Naomi Moore, CEO of Windmill Lane Recording Studios

DW: Hi Naomi, can you tell us a little bit about your role as CEO at Windmill Lane Recording Studios?

Naomi: It really is a bit of everything. We are a small, dedicated team and everyone is hands-on. A typical day could see a rock band in one studio, a team building event in another studio while a listening session for a new album is taking place in a third studio with a record company. Not to mention training of the next generation of sound engineers and music producers in our Labs. It can get chaotic, but it’s never predictable or boring – you never know who you might bump into around a corner. As CEO, it’s my role to ensure we continue to develop and continue to support the music industry.

DW: From rock to rap, tell us about some of the global superstars who have recorded at Windmill Lane Recording Studios?

Naomi: As a busy recording studio with a 40 year history, there are so many to choose from! To mention but a few, U2, The Cranberries, Sinead O’Connor, Bon Jovi, 50Cent, Snoop Dog, Kylie, The Spice Girls, Lady GaGa, The Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, Bruce Springsteen, Hozier, Foo Fighters, Niall Horan, Kate Bush, Dermot Kennedy, Miley Cyrus and everyone in between.

DW: We are excited to hear more about the unique and exciting team building experience available at Windmill Lane Recording Studios.

Naomi: We offer a truly exciting and different team-building experience. Explore the place where some of the world’s most talented and creative groups have produced their best ever work. DW: Windmill Lane Recording Studios has such an iconic home in Dublin, tell us about the building and how visitors can take part in a Studio tour

Naomi: The Studios are housed in an historic Art Deco building, Dublin's vibrant docklands. Visitors have a fantastic opportunity to experience the studio through the Artist Pass Recording Experience. It’s a 2 hour experience that lets you dive into the magic of the space. First, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the history of the studio. Then, you’ll step into Studio One, where so many iconic recordings have taken place. It’s really special to stand in the same room where your favourite music was made.

But it’s more than just a tour—you actually get to record! Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just someone who enjoys singing in the shower, you’ll have the chance to perform and record your favourite song with the guidance of a professional studio team member. Afterward, you’ll head into the control room and learn how producers and engineers bring tracks to life, which is such a cool insight into the technical side of things.
