To celebrate Wolverhampton as our 'Destination of the Month' for May, we caught up with a few Wolverhampton people to find out more about the services they offer for event professionals - next up is Gemma Cook of the Mount

DW: Hi Gemma, Tell us more about your role at The Mount

Gemma: As the Sales and Revenue Manager at The Mount, my role is both dynamic and multifaceted. Responsible for coordinating weddings and special events, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and attending networking events to promote our venue. Every day brings new opportunities and challenges, making it a truly engaging position. My goal is to drive revenue growth while ensuring that our guests and clients have exceptional experiences that reflect the quality and reputation of The Mount.

DW: Tell us about the rich history of the hotel’s past

Gemma: The Mount was built in 1865 and famously owned by The Manders Family from Wolverhampton from 1890. They refurbished the property extensively, then went on to build the beautiful Wightwick Manor, The Mount’s sister house less than 1000m away. Then in 1952 the family home was sold, and a luxury hotel was born. In 2011, the Wolverhampton-based Bernard family took ownership of The Mount and restored it to its former glory. making it into the popular independent hotel it is today.

DW: Give us a brief overview of the fabulous spaces at the Conference Centre

Gemma: From classic private dining rooms for closed client meetings to naturally lit spaces designed for groups of over 100 people, The Mount prides itself on offering a choice of spaces to cater to all your meeting needs.
