To mark International Women’s Day 2026, Eventurous is sharing two powerful stories from within its team that demonstrate this year’s theme, Give To Gain, in action, through leadership, investment in the future of women at work, and the transformative power of community support.
At the strategic level, Owner Director Joanna Garland is focused on how businesses can actively shape a more resilient and inclusive future for women in the workplace. With rapid changes in technology, automation and AI reshaping the labour market, Joanna believes organisations have a responsibility to invest in skills, progression and opportunities that enable women to move into future-focused roles.
“The events industry is built on creativity, collaboration and communication - skills that technology cannot replace. For us, “Give To Gain” means actively investing in women’s development, ensuring they are equipped not only to adapt to change but to lead it.”

This commitment is reflected in Eventurous’ ongoing focus on professional development, sustainability leadership and clear progression pathways for women across the business.
Alongside this leadership perspective sits a deeply personal story from Business Development Manager Flow Hancox, whose experience highlights the human impact of workplace compassion and industry collaboration.
Shortly after joining Eventurous, Flow experienced the devastating loss of her sister. With the support of colleagues and the wider events community, she was given the space and understanding needed to navigate grief and return in her own time. Motivated by that support and determined to honour her sister’s memory, Flow has since channelled her experience into action.
She is now training for a marathon to raise awareness and funds for Release Therapy & Counselling for Women, a specialist charity supporting women experiencing distress linked to hormonal changes, including perimenopause and menopause.
The initiative has already sparked a strong response across the industry. When Eventurous approached trusted branded workwear partner Embello, Account Manager Alex Gilbert and the Embello team immediately offered their support, donating bespoke running tops for Flow and her nephew as they prepare for the challenge.
“For me, Give To Gain is about turning something painful into something positive,” Flow says. “Opening up has encouraged others to share their experiences, and every act of support, big or small, contributes to helping more women access the help they need.”
Together, Joanna and Flow’s stories reflect Eventurous’ belief that meaningful change happens when leadership, empathy and action align. By investing in women’s futures while supporting those facing personal challenges today, the business hopes to contribute to a stronger, more resilient events industry.
