The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) has extended the submission deadline for its 2025 miaList awards in response to overwhelming interest across the sector.
Originally due to close on 13 June, nominations will now be accepted until 27 June, giving professionals in the UK’s business meetings and events industry an extra two weeks to spotlight individuals or teams who have gone above and beyond to drive organisational success.
This year, nominations are open across a record 15 categories - the most ever in miaList history - in recognition of the breadth of excellence across the thriving business meeting and events sector. Two new categories have been introduced for 2025: Executive Leader of the Year and Innovative Chef of the Year, both of which will be presented at a prestigious awards ceremony at The Belfry Hotel & Resort on Thursday 6 November.
The miaList is free to enter and open to everyone working in or connected to the Business Events Industry, with the exception of Individual Honours, which are only open to MIA members. For all team and initiative awards, there will be an additional judging stage in which those shortlisted by the panel will be subject to a weighted public vote.

“It’s fantastic to see continued enthusiasm following last year’s record-breaking participation. Every year, the miaList showcases the incredible passion, talent and brilliant work within our industry. With such a strong response already, it’s clear that people are eager to celebrate those who make a real difference. Extending the deadline gives even more time for these inspiring stories to be shared.”
Shonali Devereaux, chief executive, MIA
The awards will be presented after the trade association’s much anticipated MIA conference. Nominations will close at 23:59 on 27 June, and the shortlist will be announced on 24 July. To find out more about the miaList, visit www.mia-uk.org/miaList.
