Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire has accelerated its ambitious growth strategy with the unveiling of a £6.5 million investment into its 197 bedrooms, integrating energy-efficient technologies with a fresh new interior design. 20 rooms have been fully refurbished as of October 2024, with 40% of all bedrooms set to be completed by spring 2025.

The newly refurbished rooms have been designed in keeping with the other bright and contemporary spaces found throughout the hotel, featuring blue and green interior themes that provide a sense of stylish simplicity and timeless luxury. The design draws inspiration from the hotel’s countryside location, as well as the calming wellness elements of the award-winning Spa at Carden, ensuring the guest experience is modernised while embracing the defining elements of the property.

The comfortable rooms are complete with locally made, walnut-crafted detailing and British made Wilton carpet, as well as the latest in-room facilities such as a Nespresso coffee machine, Chromecast interactive TVs, Noble Isle toiletries and air conditioning.

The extensive £6.5 million room refurbishment will not only introduce a fresh aesthetic to both conference and leisure guests enjoying an overnight stay but will also include a significant investment in eco-friendly initiatives. The comprehensive refurbishment will include a full rooftop Plant Room overhaul, extensive use of PV solar panels, air source heat pumps in courtyard rooms and energy-efficient air conditioning throughout the main hotel; ensuring that every aspect of the project considers the environment and aligns with the hotel’s commitment to sustainability.

The installation of a state-of-the-art air conditioning system in each room is expected to yield a remarkable 50% reduction in energy consumption. In collaboration with Vital Heating Solutions, renowned for their expertise in innovative and sustainable infrastructure, Carden Park Hotel aims to elevate the overall guest experience while minimising its carbon footprint.

"The overhaul of our hotel bedrooms marks a significant chapter in Carden Park Hotel's journey. We are thrilled to embark on this exciting project to enhance our luxury accommodation, reinforcing our commitment to providing an exceptional and rejuvenating experience for our guests. Sustainability has been at the forefront of all previous renovations at the hotel, and we endeavour to continue this trajectory in all future transformation projects."

As well as the overhaul of the bedrooms, the hotel recently unveiled its £500k refurbished conference space, The Carden Suite. The new event space accommodates a sleek and modern bar, complementing the refurbished ‘Morgan’s Bar’ and elegant reception area of the hotel, creating a seamless and sophisticated ambiance throughout.

The Carden Suite offers the perfect space for a company-wide conference, spectacular banquet or themed celebration. The versatile venue can seat up to 400, so is ideal for larger events. The Carden Suite can also be partitioned to create smaller rooms, which are ideal for syndicate rooms, or more intimate groups. As the hotels largest conference space, the Carden Suite contains an inbuilt stage with projection, mood lighting that can be themed to company colours or themed events, nine 60-inch plasma TV’s and a starlit optical fibre lighting ceiling, providing a striking atmosphere for any occasion.

Previous Investment Projects

Kickstarting the hotel’s series of spectacular investment projects, in 2020, the hotel opened its £10 million destination spa, The Spa at Carden. Home to one of the UK’s largest spa gardens, built with sustainability and connection to nature at its core. The spa has picked up multiple awards since its opening, mostly recently picking up Hotel Spa of the Year at the AA Hospitality Awards 2024.

Later that year, the opening of Vertigo at Carden, a white knuckle high-ropes assault course added to the ‘Pursuits’ element of the business, and the arrival of the new fine dining restaurant The Vines, and Goldies Lounge added to Carden Park’s F&B offering. The Vines was recently awarded its third Rossette, putting it within the top 10% of venues in the AA Restaurants Guide
