The Paris Visitors Bureau, its partners and professionals operating in the Paris tourism sector are investing in making it easier to host major events and conferences. The aim is to enhance the appeal of Paris, a global leader on these segments, and in particular to breathe life into the destination’s sectors of excellence: innovation, design / fashion, science, culture, gastronomy and sport.

To do this, Parisian stakeholders have signed up to two hosting charters which set out rigorous criteria designed to enable easier business traveller pathways and an event experience that is augmented, sustainable and innovative.

By securing a concrete commitment from them, these charters enable institutions, hotels, venues, caterers, inbound tourism agents and transport companies to work vertically on developing the appeal of the destination in the eyes of their clients, by offering a harmonised offering. This involves personalised support for sponsors, support letters, simplified terms and conditions of sale, technical management tracking, quota management, targeted prospecting, systematic application of quality commitments, etc.

The idea is to place Paris on an equal footing with the rest of the international competition, offering visitors the highest level of infrastructure and logistics support, as well as venues which reflect their values in terms of CSR.

To go even further, the Paris Visitors Bureau is in the process of developing a calculation tool (scheduled for release in spring 2023). It will concretely measure the economic, social and environmental impacts of these major events, as well as their benefits for tourism.

The Charters for hosting Major Corporate Events and Major Conferences are in line with the Paris je t’aime Hospitality Manifesto, which will be unveiled in early 2023.
