To celebrate Brighton as our Destination of the Month, we caught up with a few Brighton people to find out more about the services they offer for event professionals - this time we spoke to Danny Edwards, Founder & Director of Great British Wine Tours

DW: Hi Danny, tell us all about Great British Wine Tours and your role?

Danny: Great British Wine Tours is one of the leading wine tour operators in the UK, running tours of vineyards in Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire and Kent. I set the business up and have been running it since 2016. We offer regular public wine tours from Brighton by vintage bus every Saturday from April - September to vineyards in East Sussex. Plus, we operate tailor-made wine tours and activities throughout the year for private groups, corporate clients and hen parties.

DW: So, we were lucky enough to experience a fantastic trip to Artelium vineyard with you recently, and we absolutely loved it! Tell us how you tailor your trips for corporate groups and can you provide the tours for larger numbers?

Danny: Our corporate tours are all tailored to the individual clients’ needs and budget. We have an in-depth knowledge of the vineyards in the region so we know which one(s) will suit the clients’ requirements best.

They range from relaxed, family- run vineyards offering an intimate tour experience and simple picnic hampers for lunch to vineyards with modern facilities and high-end restaurants featuring renowned chefs. Larger numbers are no trouble, our biggest corporate tour so far this year was for 150 guests!

DW: We definitely walked away knowing lots of interesting facts about wine and the vineyard’s history, as well as having a delicious lunch and sampling a few wines of course! Do you have the option to visit other vineyards in the area as well? And can you offer logistical services – to collect people from the station etc?

Danny: We work with around 30 vineyards – so there are loads of options. If the client has the time, we suggest touring at least two, possibly three, in a day. Each vineyard has its own unique character and of course all their wines differ too. We pick-up and drop-off at the client’s favoured location – be it a train station, airport, office or hotel. We have a range of transport options to suit the client in size and style including vintage London Routemaster buses.
